WilliamT Reynolds wife
In the Hawkinsville Dispatch, vol 22, #40, dated October 4, 1888 was an article about the death of William T. Reynolds. The Dispatch quoted the Macon Telegraph as the source of the information. The article said, "Yesterday morning a message came in from Jeffersonville, in Twiggs County, for a casket for W. T. Reynolds, a well known farmer of Twiggs, who was shot and killed on Saturday night by Sheriff Frank Pottis.....The deceased was a son of Hubbard Reynolds, who has more than once represented Twiggs in the legislature, and is a man of much influence in the county. Mr. (Hubbard) Reynolds was a farmer and lost his wife sometime ago." William is buried at Jeffersonville cemetery.

William's wife Ida C. Hughes Reynolds was made the executrix of his estate. She filed to be released from her responsibilities on March 17, 1890 as they were completed.

Do you know anything about the tombstone that states his wife was Laura B Hughes? He had a daughter named Laura E and I think this daughter's name and his wife Ida's name have somehow become mixed together.

Caroline Elizabeth Bowen Benton
Hello Franny,

I'm not sure if we have talked before. I descend from Caroline Bowen and James F. Benton. I saw your post from Mt Moriah cemetery for Caroline. Has there ever been established proof that Caroline and James are interred at Mt Moriah? I've been there no less than 8 times, including one visit to perform a GPR survey with some Geology professors from nearby Georgia Southern University. It is my belief that James & Caroline are there, but I've never seen anything definitive to confirm. I would love to discuss this more with you. Please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.
