Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family genealogy since 1976 and have recently been putting up some tombstone photos I have taken over the years.

From 1982 - 1987 I was editor of the Terry Family Historian Quarterly and the old issues are posted online just Google "Terry Family Historian" and you will find it.

In addition I am Coordinator of DNA projects for these Surnames: Bottom(s, Carter, Cunningham, Hefner-Hafner-Havner, McInturff, Stokes and Terry-Tarry-Tyrry or variations of these names.

Just Google "Terry DNA Project" and you will find me.

Have met some cousins recently on Find a Grave which is neat.

If I have placed a marker for one of your relatives and you want to add something let me know or you can post your own information/photo and I will remove mine.

Robert "Mike" Terry

First Families of America

it is a PDF document.
The death records for Robert is not listed on this pdf. I have used this Index before with several civil war vets in my family.

You will find Sarah Ann Bottoms second wife of Robert and her death date. She list her husband as Robert. Her death record shows 10/22/1918 , very close to what is on her findagrave death date. The middle names Lee and Anderson are also not proven to me at this time.

I also have sent for Civil war records for my personal use. That also might help close in some loose ties?

Thus far I have found no one else showing the Widow Pension for Robert's living wife Sarah after his death. So, I offer you this information to help your research. is just one means of information. There is also the burial records, coffin purchace, etc., that you might locate for this familiy.

All it takes is "money" ....

Good luck.

Major Stephen Terry of Atlanta 1850

We are researching the people and families which founded our congregation in Atlanta in 1848. Major Terry is prominent in that group. Anything you could tell us about him, his ancestors and children, and the contributions he made to Atlanta and/or First Presbyterian would be appreciated.

RE: Moses Patterson
Hi Mike,

No, I'm not aware of any DNA testing. Apparently you and I are cousins of some description; Moses was my great x 3 grandfather and William was my great x 4th.

After noticing your comment about being the 3rd great grandchild of Robert Lee Bottoms I wanted to write.
I would like to exchange some information about the wife of Robert Lee Bottoms and some of thier children as well as the childrens grandparents. Please let me know if you get this message. I beleive I can help link your family to others.
Thank you.
