|Mary Joanne Reece-Miller||RE: James Blake, Sr.|
Thanks for the input. I changed it but may have missed a spot. Death Certificate says Jan 5, 1907 and it is one the headstone.
He married 3 times. Martha Armstrong-McLaughlin-Lachay was widowed twice & Robert McLaughlin reported killed in war. He returned after Martha was carrying her 2nd child sired by James Blake Sr. James Blake did not leave Ontario until after the 13th children was born and his name is on birth registration. That child visited my Grandmother when I was young and she told me he was her brother. I lived my live in the same house as my grandmother-she was James Blake Sr.'s 10th child by 2nd wife Hannah Lee.
Martha Armstrong had 8 children with Robert McLaughlin and those children & she lived in the home where Hannah Lee & James Blake Sr. lived after Hannah Lee's death & his remarriage to Martha. He went to Lopez Island in 1883, July-following his father-in-law James Lee (Hannah's father) to San Juan County. There are 13 children sired by James Blake Sr. Martha Armstrong-Laughlin lived in Sarnia with her Laughlin children & the 2 Blake siblings - James Blake Sr. went to the USA without her. Later records show she used the name Martha Blake to her death in Sarnia.

You are very welcome. Also buried on that family plot are Harry F. Stone (his memorial says Baby), Elizabeth, Dr. Albert F. Stone, and Dora Hine Stone. On the neighboring plot are Anna Stone Piggot and her husband Grant.

I have forward the information to the creators of the memorial, but I doubt that they will respond. I have sent 50+ to them with no response, and eventually avter the 30 day wait, have to send it to admin for a response. It will get done though I promise, I will keep on it until it does..

Are Mary and Gladys the same person?
The picture I sent is of a 4 x 9 inch (approx) concrete marker with the number 1150 on it. These were the original markers with a few exceptions for the graves in Western State Cemetery.

If you are interested, Grave Concerns is working at placing new markers for those interred in Western State Cemetery at a very reasonable donation. The link to there site for more information is http://www.wshgraveconcerns.org
Look under FAQ for information about replacement markers.
