 | Claud Ashby We searched Pleasant Hill Cemetary and markers were not to be found. Contacted the caretaker and she sent me to Mt. Hope Cemetary to look for another marker. Low and behold that is where we found the Ashby you were requesting. I also have pictures of markers for infant daughter and son of Claud Ashby. If you would like them, please let me know. Good luck in your research. I have other photos of other Ashby markers that we could locate also. This cemetary is full of them. | |

 | Harry & Amelia Ashby I see you have a photo request at Restland Cemetery. If you can call and get a burial location for them, I will go and photograph the grave for you. Thanks!Added by TLH on Dec 25, 2011 8:59 AM | |

 | Travis Ashby request Arkansas Unfortunately I was unable to locate your request. The Newton Cemetery is very overgrown(so sad) and it is in the middle of a farmers field fenced off with barbed wire. Here is a helpful website http://arkansasgravestones.org but they were also unable to find it too! Sorry! | |

 | J.L. Ashby Even though I haven't officially claimed your request, a friend of mine and I are looking for more info. The problem is, there's not actually a "Denton Cemetery", but there are a few rather large cemeteries in Denton that have been known as "City Cemetary" or "Denton Cemetery". It will just take some time to search the cemetaries on foot since I've not been able to find that name listed on any of their inventories. I found an infant of J.L. Ashby listed on the inventory for IOOF Cemetery but the death of the infant was in 1903, so the dates don't match up correctly. Do you have any other information you might be able to share with me about this person? I will also check out what funeral homes would have been in business at his time of death and check their records. If I can find the funeral home that was used, then maybe I can find out for sure what cemetery he's buried in. Thanks for your patience.

 | RE: Monnie Belle Ashby Lewis Angela, you are very welcome. I posted several photos of Ashbys I saw at a couple of cemeteries. Hope they were related to you. I don't think I have a Tennessee branch. They originally came from Georgia to Arkansas prior to the Civil War but may have spread out from there. | |
