Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on genealogy for about 45 years and my husband, Roy, and I are also working on a project to identify and photograph burial places of Civil War veterans in Iowa. He is the State Graves Registration Officer for the Iowa Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW).

If you are a relative of someone I have posted a memorial for--that is NOT a relative of mine--I would be glad to transfer management to you. I do have a personal policy of NOT transferring memorials to anyone who is listed as Anonymous, though.

Please feel free to use my photos as you like, but I would appreciate photo credit if you use them on another website.

If you have a comment, question,or correction to any of my Memorials, please use the Edit on the Memorial page. It is much easier to find the correct person that way. Additions and corrections which are phrased rudely as demands may be ignored.

Couple of Gravers
John B. Edwards
Hi Linda,

There are some very distinct similarities between these two memorial pages. According to the headstone requisition form, the veteran marker wasn't ordered by a family member, but by an American Legion historian at least 20 to 25 years after he passed away. It could very well be that John is buried in Washington, Indiana, and the marker in Buckingham Cemetery was ordered and placed in error.

I'm sure that the historian was acting in good faith, and we don't have access to the documentation he based his order on, but it seems that he may have been mistaken. It's hard to imagine two men named John B. Edwards in the same company of the same Iowa Infantry Regiment.

I'll provide a link to the memorial page in Indiana with a copy of the body of this message, and let visitors draw their own conclusions. Thanks for letting me know.

RE: William Lindsley
Thank you for adding Mr. Lindsley's obituary. This was given to me by a friend. I am not related. If the person who has the "last veteran" list would like a copy of the obituary which includes his photo, let me know and I can send it. Thanks again.

I went out to the Oak View Cemetery (Albia) and there is no ledgeable lettering. I tried the shaving creme but all I got was some fancy work. Sorry.

The Oak View censes says no dates & GAR. The information I got was from small white marker. When it warms up maybe spring will go back and check it. I have used the shaving creme before but there has to be some inprint left. It is cold here high in 30's. You keep track of the ones you want me to check.

Lane from Mt. Pleasant Cemetery
Jack Pot found them #107133751 & #107133734. Have added them to their memorial pages. They had a nice large stone with flag holder by side.

George J. Klineham
George 1884-1916 #138152919 is not the George that was in the Civil War. Maybe his father but there is no other Klinsham buried in Oak View.
Sorry I was no help to you. But if you find him and he is in a Monroe County cemetery would be glad to get stone photo for you.
