Are all the Children In?

I think oft"times as night draws nigh
Of the old farmhouse on the hill.
Of a yard all wide and blossom-starred
Where the children played at will.
And when the night at last came down,
Hushing the merry din,
Mother would look around and ask,
"Are all the children in?"

Tis many and many a year since then,
And the house on the hill
No longer echoes to children's feet,
And the yard is still......so still.
But I see it all,the shadows creep,
And though many years have been
Since then,I can still hear Mother ask,
"Are all the children in?"

I wonder if when the shadows fall
On that last short, earthly day,
When we say good-bye to the world outside,
All tired from our childish play.
When we step out into that Other Land
Where Mother has long since been,
Will we hear her ask, just has of old
"Are all the children in?"

Vickie, in May of 2013 you created several memorials in this cemetery. At least 2 of them I believe are my relatives, William T. Williams may be my great-great grandfather and James Williams may be my great grandfather. I believe most, if not all the others are related.

Can you share where you got the entries for these memorials. Do you have any other information on them. Someone visited the grave yard for me and it is indeed grown over.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hey, Vicki, I think it's probably in the Murder, Mayhem, and More section from the looks of other articles like it. I've looked through a bunch of those and haven't found it yet but with luck and a lot of looking I think I probably will. Unfortunately, it's not arranged by date. It goes along chronologically in places and then zip it's into three decades later. If by any chance you happen to remember the section number where you found it, that would be a great help. But, in any event, thanks so much for your help already! --Thea

Thanks for the link but I have already found the page and the obit doesn't seem to be there either. The only one I see is for a Mrs. Caroline Smith.
