Bio and Links
Bio Photo Although I have lived in Peachtree City and Newnan, Georgia since 1994, my roots are from West Brookfield, Massachusetts. I am the youngest of 4 children born to the late Katherine Lorraine (Sheldon)Gay and the late Winthrop Bowen Gay. I absolutely love scrapbooking - especially heirloom whereas I have so many old photographs of my family. I love genealogy and going into the old cemeteries. I find it so fascinating and relaxing reading the headstones. Even though I'm not from Georgia I still enjoy finding old grave stones for families that are buried here. Occasionally when going home to MA I find myself in the old cemeteries there. I'm always on the lookout for relatives of mine...Sheldon, Bradford, Cole, Gay, Bowen and Prince families. If you think we may have some family ties and work on genealogy, I'd love to hear from you.

RE: Bailey / Hopson Family
You're welcome, Marilyn. Unfortunately my time in Vermont is being cut short because of family illness (I've got to return to California ASAP), but I'm hoping to get back to my photo to-do list next summer.

Hi Marilyn, Your more than welcome, Prince is a fairly common name in Brooklyn, Ct. There's even a Prince Hill Road, most likely connected to your line of Prince's. What I'm going to do is see if I can work the Brooklyn line into my tree so I better know what your looking for. I already have a few in my tree from the Barnstable and Plymouth Mass. area. If you have an Ancestry Tree, I'd love to share with you. All the other surnames you've mentioned in your Bio are also in my tree. And I have photographed several cemeteries in the Brookfield, Brimfield, Sturbridge area if you need help there

I searched at great length today for her grave. The section that she is buried in is relatively easy to walk. Meaning-it is not a football field area. I could not find her stone. I will be going back to search for others in the coming weeks...I will keep her on my list. If you have more info...please share.

Palmetto City Cemetery
The correct name for the Palmetto City Cemetery is THE FLORAL HILL CEMETERY. It is just refered to as the "city cemetery" in Palmetto.

RE: Headstone for Luke Smith
I have checked all the census records for Basil A J Smtih. No son named Luke or Looney appears. Is this a child who died young and missed the census?

Basil had a cousin, Larkin Smith, who has some children buried at Ramah (Samuel R Smith for one). Larkin had a son named William L Smith for whom I have not been able to find much. That is the closest I could come to a Luke or Looney Smith on any of my lines who might be buried at Ramah.

I guess you will have to post this person and the information. Thanks so much for your help, again.
