As a retiree, I'm finding lots of time on my hands, and genealogy is filling the void to the point of near obsession. I love digging for records, walking through cemeteries, checking dates and names, and wondering who these lost souls may belong to.It is always rewarding and very exciting to find the answer to a mystery in the family, and the feeling of belonging grows with each find. I look forward to finding answers to my questions and hope that through those answers I might be able to help someone else that might be looking in that same direction. Also, if I've inadvertently added incorrect information on this site, please let me know.|

You are very welcome!

You are so welcome. Her memorial was in the wrong cemetery. The little Sells cemetery where she is buried is on the Fentress/Overton County line at the top of the mountain where the road ends. Beautiful little cemetery! I'm descended from Sells as well!

I have to tell you how I was able to get this photo. Our DAR chapter went to the cemetery yesterday with the local cemetery committee. While they mapped the grounds we did our best to locate and clean the graves. Only two stones are still standing (one is unmarked) and another is propped up with a stick. We did our best but at the end of the day we were unable to locate Sarah's and Virginia's stones, which we new had been identified not long ago. As Elizabeth is my fifth great grandmother, I had a special interest in finding and preserving these sites. So as we gathered around the surveying stand listening to the mapper explain his map, I stepped back slightly and wobbled on my feet. I looked down, thinking I had been standingg on a stump. But a closer look showed I had Been standing on Sarah's stone!! I cleared the brush and voila...there she was! It was the perfect end to a great day.

I'm happy to help. I also added photos for Geesje Lenters, who I assume was Gerrit's wife. It was a multi-day process, as both markers were overgrown with moss, weeds etc. I cleaned up the monuments and the lot, and let the sunshine do the rest. Even though the inscription is faded I think you can read the information.

Thought you would want to know a lady from the Daughters of American Revolution in Texas has contacted our local DAR chapter requesting work and and a REV WAR Marker for Levi Casey's wife buried in this cemetery. Our DAR referred it to the cemetery committee who met today and a decision was made that the Casey cemetery is first priority due to condition of graves. A field day has been scheduled for Nov 1 and I will be there. Will try to locate and photograph your request at that time. Once the cemetery is restored I expect DAR will place a marker and possibly have a dedication ceremony. Anyone wanting more details please email me email@example.com

Do you have directions or location of theCasey cemetery in Florence Lauderdale County AL. I know DAR is considering a Revolutionary War Soldier Marker for someone there and there is a photo request that I would take if I can find it

It was so nice to hear from you! A.H.Clark was the paternal grandfather of my father, Denver Tafton Clark. I have a tree in progress on ancestry.com. If you would like to view it, send me an email and I will add you as a member. We might find out how we are related and share information. I am collecting as much as possible and in touch with the Garretts and the Clarks.

The photo has been moved.

Thanks for the note. I'm not the person who added the photo of the gravestone in 2012, which obviously is for the wrong Robert Field. I will ask that it be moved to the right Robert.
