re: Amy F Housel wife of James
minniecat -
I don't know if I have a lot more about the line that contains James A. Housel and his wife Amy. I'm not sure where the maiden name Garret came from, most info now points to a maiden name of Thatcher and father being Gardner Thatcher. I believe the link to Henry as the father of James as being correct (have added Elizabeth's maiden name to Henry's bio).

My line runs through the line of Housels that resided in old Northumberland PA starting before 1800. We are assured that these lines link to the Hunterdon, NJ lines emanating from Kasper Hauschildt (all spelling variations), and his three sons Jacob, Johannes and Mathias. But the trick is establishing any of those lines with certainty.

Leave me a message if you have more specific questions. I will attempt to connect with e-mail if you think I can help more.

Great photo! By any chance, did you get the location of their tombstone? I always put that in the comments/description for cemetery pictures.

Thanks again for getting this photo,
