The descendants of the old settlers, those who cleared the land and first upturned the wild sod to the sun, should see that the doings of those early years are fittingly remembered and recorded.
It was once remarked by a great writer that those who take no interest in the deeds of their ancestors are not likely to do anything worthy to be remembered by their descendants.
Please leave flowers or memorials on my memorials, I believe everyone deserves flowers, and I have a great family. Thank you in advance.

Barbara - were you once married to Cecil? Reason I ask is that in my family history I have a Barbara Jean Bell as his wife so when I saw your first name, I thought maybe you might have been. You added a memorial for Robert Francis Marion Mathis in the old Pioneer Cemetery in San Bernardino a while back. Are you related? I thought maybe you were because you had a photo of him as well.
I have record of his mother Elisabeth (Betsy) Ross Mathis being buried in San Bernardino and was wondering if you may have come across her headstone while you were there? Or if you know anything about where she was buried. I kind of assumed she would be in that cemetery also, but don't know for certain.
She died in Aug of 1891 as far as I can tell.
