The Wilsons
Most likely he's in the same cemetery, but there are many missing stones and the records on this cemetery are very non-existent.

Willie and Margaret Turner
O what a lovely thing you did leaving the pictures on Willie and Margaret Turner's memorials. No, I am not related to them and if you are, I will be more than happy to transfer them to you. Blessings!

RE: Eri & Minetta Pond
I suppose that you know that Lucy Ann Chase was Aaron Pond's second wife (M: 18 Feb 1838); prior to that he was married to her sister - Eunice Chase on 15 Nov 1836. Eunice died less than 6 months later, 26 Apr 1837.

RE: Eri & Minetta Pond
Hi Shirley, I would happily pay you for professional reproductions of the family photos that you emailed.
I do have some information and a few stories about this line of Ponds; Aaron was the 7th in our line that I know about. His will was recorded in the Surrogate's Office at Catskill, Greene Co., my father saw it about 40 years ago. Aaron's father (Luther Pond) married a Martha Distin who's father Joseph Distin was a British soldier who fought at the Battle of Bunker's Hill and was captured afterward. He was boarded in the home of Amos Parker (there were no prisons) and eventually deserted the British Army to marry one of the Parker daughters !!!

Eri and Minetta Pond
Shirley, this is the only photo that I have ever seen of my great grandparents. Thank you so much for posting it. How can I get a copy? Their second child (of 17), Elnora E.(Pond)Lightsey was my grandmother. Elnora's only child, Dorothy E.(Lightsey)Schuchman is my mother.

RE: John & Minnie Freeman
I have my Freeman family traced all the way back from John and Mimmie to the 1670's in Norfolk VA. Working backward from John and Mimmie: John's Parents were Menoah Freeman and Julian "Judy" Rogerrs. Menoah's parents were William and Sarah (Sarah's surname has not been found as of yet). William's parents were John and Tabitha Hoyter (Tabitha was a full-blooded Chowan indian). John's parents were William Freeman and Mary Cording. William's parents were John and Hannah (Hanna's Surnamehas not been found as of yet). John Freeman was in Lower Norfolk Co, Va (now the City of Chesapeake) as early as Oct 1673.  His name shows up on a list of persons cited for not keeping the road in fron of their property. He and his wife both died between May 15 & 18, 1711 in Norfolk Co, VA. He lived near the Western Branch of Elizabeth River, adj. the Great Dismal Swamp, near the boundary with Nansemond Co, Va.

RE: Ponds?
Interesting - especially the mention of Nebraska - that is a mystery in my Pond family - I had a Pond who lived there

If you'd like contact me directly @

RE: Ponds?
Hi Shirely

My Ponds are from Oneida Co, NY via Connecticut. The name Aaron Pond jumped out @ me because an associated family - Charlot - had a group including an Aaron in Hudson, Columbia Co., NY

So just wondering about your families travels to Greene Co.

Wondering if your Pond's were in Oneida County, NY? Do you know anything about the Aaron in the Jewett cemetery?
