Bio and Links
Bio Photo I spend part of my day every day working on genealogy. Got into cemeteries about 1993 and love it. I'm updating the Coweta County Georgia Cemetery book by taking pictures of all the tombstones in Coweta County and surrounding counties. Have a question call 770-304-9111.

===With Coweta having TWO New Hopes, Providences, Elims, Bethels, Bethlehems, Ebenezers, Holly Springs, Mt Gileads, Liberty Hills, Mt Carmels, St Marks, Wesley Chapels, =Mt Zion/Zion Hill, Tinch/Tench, Linch/Lynch, Calvary/Mt Calvary, FOUR Oak Grove/White Oak Groves, we see how new people can get discombobulated!

**Even the Social Security is holding back their Death Index's for 3 years now, the last year out is 2011. I don't feel as if I should help ID theives by putting birth dates after 1940 on the memorials. If this is your relative, then I'll transfer them to you and you can put the complete dates on them.***

******I HAVE COMPLETED TAKING PICTURES OF ALL STONES I COULD FIND IN ALL CEMETERIES IN COWETA EXCEPT: 4 churches whose grass was too tall and about 20 unknown cems I can't find. *****************

For those of you who do not know what cem in Coweta folks are buried in, you can ask someone to find which one.

If you would like a better pic, just email me.

Coweta County, Ga
I have only recently began tracing my family. It seems I am a well rooted Benton from Coweta County, Ga! Thank you for all the work you have done. Without people like you carving a path, many of us that do not live in the area would not have nearly as much information. I spent every summer in Cornelia, Ga. I would love any websites or resources that you can recommend on the history of the area. Thank you.

Thank you Dianne I would love to have a copy of the certificate. I looked at the map of where the cemetery is, there doesn't appear to be a cemetery there(Jones and Gay intersection). Do you have any pictures of the cemetery? And do you have any idea how many people are buried there?
Thanks loads...

Do you have GPS coordinates for this cemetery?

RE: Harris/Couch
If it was a Couch/Harris reunion I doubt it. I served 25 years in the Air Force so I missed a lot of this stuff. I did attend several Harris reunions at New Salem Baptist until we stopped having them. Howard is buried in Griffin Memorial Gardens next to his Dad.

Bessie Hyde
Just wanted to let you know that after conferring with a relative, I received the following message from her, and she is also related to Bessie Hyde.

Bessie Turner Reynolds married James Albert Hyde on July 18 1950 after his first wife passed away in 1949. his birth is 23 Aug 1878, and his death date is 29 November 1972. She has a first husband and I will link him to her when I get the memorial number.

Hyde Headstone
I am sorry, but I need you to disregard the husbands names in the previous messages. I wrote it down this time. It is Major James Harold Hyde. Born May 16, 1911, and died Dec. 16, 1997.

RE: Hyde Headstone
I believe that the husbands name is Major Robert Hyde. My great grand Aunt Bessie Turner Reynolds married a Hyde after her first husband passed away. No one seems to know his name. If Robert is laid beside her, then maybe she is who I am looking for.
