Dear Ancestor

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
In this field of green.
The name and date are chiseled out
For all the world to see.

It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist,
You died long before I was born.

Yet we are of one, you and I,
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the life you lived
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

If a duplicate is created on the site for the same individual, the memorial page that was created in the correct cemetery first is the memorial page stays. We have a way to know where a memorial page was created and if and when it was transferred to another cemetery. Creating memorial pages as burial unknowns, moving to the correct cemetery after the memorial in the correct cemetery and then telling the contributor that was their first that they are second and to remove theirs is called Backdating and is not acceptable on the site. If Backdating a memorial is brought to our attention, then that memorial page will be removed from the site.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all you do for Find-A-Grave searchers. I saw your name Kelly Lee-McNutt so often in my searches, I thought we must be kin, but apparently not. I am a descendant of the NeSmiths, Hamptons and Rains, many of whom lie buried in Bald Knob Cem and other cemeteries in Morgan and Lawrence Counties. I just now am picking up on your new id name, drummer girl. Anyway, thanks again, and I hope you are able to continue your good work for a long time. Helen Dearing, descendant of Alexander M. NeSmith, b. 1779. bur. Alabama.

Daisy Mae Landers Bowen and Frank
Hi Kelly!
My name is Robert Davis and Daisy Mae Landers Bowen is my great-grandmother, Frank Bowens, my great grandfather. I know when she died, he abandoned my grandmother, Pearl, and her two sisters...Ana and Dorothy.

Do you know anything about Fran Bowens? It would help me immensely!

Kindest regards,

They have their own website and are not copying to Findagrave; you may ask them to do that. Your photo requested might be found here.

RE: Nova Sue Burns Barnett
Thx - added Mrs. Burns! Mrs. Barnett was much closer than even an aunt to me, more like a 2nd mother!
