|Genealogy has been a hobby of mine since 8th grade. My family on my father's side is from Cincinnati, OH and on my mother's side is from Ellwood City, PA. Family names on my father's side are: Bader, Quell, Diekman, Ritchie, Stuntz, Moore. Family names on my Mother's side are: Wilson, Paland, Munnell, Patterson, VanGorder, Frew, Elliott,Beamer. |
My husband's family is currently from Washington, PA. His father's family names are Stavovy (also spelled Stawowy), Gawlak, Filek, Chwala; His mother family names are Laurine, Michalek, Yuvan.
I have plenty of family members to keep me busy and active. Since 1975 I have been member of the National Pike Chapter, DAR - joining on Jacob VanGorder. My vocation was librarian - three years part-time parochial H.S. librarian, five years as public librarian director, and nineteen years as Assistant Law Librarian at Washington County Law Library. I have been retired since March 2, 2012. Retirement is great!

If you call Arlington cemetery for the location of the stone , there are many photographers here happy to help. Arlington does not want to help photographers The office gives us a cold shoulder. There is five inches of snow on the ground!

I'm sorry. I don't have any way to check or verify the occupants of Mars Hill Cemetery. The people you are looking could be there, as there are always unmarked graves and degraded markers.

I was planning to add more material to his biography but it would be a while before I was able, so I went ahead and transferred him to you even though I wasn't finished. I've gathered a lot of material on the German-speaking immigrants to this area and enjoying documenting this sometimes overlooked group. I'll check back and take a look at what you've done with his memorial. Good luck with your research.
