Duncan Phyfe
Joyce -
Caroline married Duncan Phyfe born abt 1830.

This Duncan was the grandson of the furniture maker.
I checked it all out and updated the memorial.
Did I tell you about the recent book published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art? If you were not aware of it, you should get a copy. It is a beautiful book with several pictures of the people in it.

And they had a big celebration at the Metro a year or two ago, when the book came out.

I want to introduce you to the researcher for the Metro.

Write me directly again. Okay? I have been very busy lately. 'Sorry I haven't kept in touch.

RE: Phyfe - Schermerhorn Connection
I am related to the Schermerhorn's

Elida Schermerhorn, and James Cleland were my cousin's 5th cousin's 5x removed.

Ryer Jacobse Schermerhorn born 1652-1719 was my 8th great Uncle and he was Elida Schermerhorn's 3rd Great Grandfather.

James and Elida's daughter Caroline Amelia Cleland
did married a Duncan Phyfe, but he was not Duncan Phyfe the furniture maker. However they may be related, but since I'm not related to the Phyfe's I have not traced the family line back.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Cleland / Phyfe research
Joyce - Are you aware of your great aunt's Phyfe connections?

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is doing some special research on the Phyfe people. I have been trying to help the main researcher there.

I would be so pleased if you would write me directly, so I can tell you more about it.

Re: Elida "Alida" (Schermerhorn) Clelan, a cousin of yours and I are trying to connect all the Schermerhorn people together. Can you tell me who Elida's parents were?
