Note relating to Fannin County, Texas cemeteries: they have a very nice website that may immediately offer the photo you are looking for. I am trying to get them to transfer these to FindAGrave website. Find it here:|
Photo Takers: please note flour and chalk and other previously accepted methods will actually damage old stone; please read these hints for using tin foil, and for flashlights to help light hard to read stones:
Please have compassion for others and if you cannot reply in a positive way, then don't reply at all.
My husband lost his battle with esophageal cancer Nov. 2014, his memorial # 139923728.
We are all fighting our own private battles and don't need the negativity. If I don't thank you promptly, please don't be harsh. I always thank volunteers as soon as I can.
Please be kind in your messages to everyone on the site.
I will put in a blanket THANK YOU here for all who do my edits/corrections; I submit too many edits and corrections to open and reply to each one, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate your time and effort in doing them.
I am a member of Ancestory.com and have had my DNA analysis completed, which connected me to many, many relatives, both close and distant cousins, and many I have made connections with. It also enabled me to find additional relatives on my tree because we are linked by our DNA. My personal heritage shows Great Britain and Ireland as my distinct lineages.
** From Wichita, Manhattan, and Wamego, Kansas, living in Dallas, TX area (Garland, Sachse, Caddo Mills, Celeste) since 1982. My paternal ancestors came from Ireland (Conley/Etchison/Loy/Grimes) and my maternal ancestors from Switzerland/Germany/England (Shoup/Brandon/Elledge/Boone) who migrated to Kentucky/Tennessee then to Kansas. Daniel Boone is connected in both my maternal Brandon (Edward 'Neddie') and also my paternal Conley line (Daniel & Edward's brother George W), and there is also a Lincoln connection I am sorting out because they all lived near to each other.
My husband's paternal ancestors (Siebert, Schmidt) were Russian Mennonites from Karolswalde region, Russia who migrated to Pawnee Rock, Kansas in 1875 to avoid religious persecution and brought with them the Turkey Red Winter Wheat to the U.S. His maternal ancestors immigrated from France (Breault, LeBlanc) to Kankakee, Illinois, then to Clyde-Clifton, Kansas, a French community.
Military connections: my father, a Purple Heart veteran, was a Marine, 2nd Div., Pacific, in WWII in the Special Services/Intelligence team and was at all the island battles;
his father was in Army in WWI;
my brother in law, Timothy Siebert, was in Army, Ft. Campbell, KY, 101st Airborne, Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

|Karen Wilburn||RE: Emma Greene|
Hi - No names on back of stone. Cemetery records show Emma, Evelyn, Rosamond and Irene Greene are all buried here - 2 in grave 1 and 2 in grave 3. Not sure who, if anyone, is buried in grave 2. Posted photo to all four ladies and sent note to contributor. Thanks, Karen

There is a different database I use: http://archives.lacrosselibrary.org/genealogy/genealogy-database/#search-results
which does have one cemetery listing for an Emma Grimes at Oak Grove (not Catholic Cemetery).
I photograph whole sections of the cemeteries, so if I find a Grimes I can let you know.

You sent me an edit to link her to parents. I have researched her for quite awhile and never came up with parents. Could you please send your sources for this edit? thanks so much.

Hello, I drove out to Rose Valley Cemetary today to find & photograph your 5 requests. Unfortunately, I did not find any of them. This is a very small rural cemetary, with only approximately 280 internments. I walked carefully through it twice searching for your names. The problem I see is that it is also an old cemetary & many of the headstones are no longer visible due to the ground taking over. The older headstones are mostly situated in,family plot areas. I am sorry that your requests could not be filled. I am sure they are no longer visible without digging.
Douglas is my great grandfather. How are you related to the Conleys? His father was William Conley and mother Eliza Ryan Conley. I live about 30 miles from a lot of my ancestors.

|Paula Segrest||RE: Patricia Grimes|
I talked with Harold and Phyllis' daughter and she pointed me in the right direction to find their stone. Turns out they are on the back of Harold's parents' stone, and I didn't look back there. Their daughter would like to contact you to compare Grimes family information. If you wouldn't mind visiting with her, you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will get your e-mail address to her. Thanks for considering her request.
|Paula Segrest||Patricia Grimes|
I went to the Mount Hope Cemetery this evening again looking for the Grimes family. I think the Patricia you are looking for is the one that was born in 1933 and died in 2013. My thought on this is that the person who posted the other Patricia Grimes page must have made a mistake on the date of death.
As far as Phyllis and Harold Grimes, I am still not able to locate a stone for them. The next time I see their daughter I will ask her if they even have a stone, and if so, where is it, because it is not where the cemetery records says it should be.
If I am successful, I will post the pictures. Otherwise I will let you know that there is no stone.
|Forest Lori||Mary Ann Eirp Clemons|
I received your message that there are 2 Mary Ann Clemons Find a Grave profiles. I am aware of this. What happened was someone took over the Mary Ann Earp Clemons profile and the information of her parents and siblings is all wrong. I contacted them and tried to get it changed but they refused - they REALLY REAlly want to be related to Wyatt Earp and it is not correct. I have done extensive research on the Eirp line and the relation is clear back in the early 1700's. So I created my own profile for my great great grandmother which has the correct information on it.
