I have been tracing my roots for fifteen years and lucky for me almost all are buried in Fannin County. |
I have traced my maternal grandmother Jewel B. Henry Dillard's line back to William Henry, Sr who was born in 1715 in Ireland and died in York County, South Carolina. Three of his sons fought in the Revolutionary War. They were involved in winning the "Battle of Kings Mountain", which was near their home.
I have traced my paternal grandmother Nellie Woffork Dillard Abercrombie's line through her father Richard Worfolk to Thomas Worfolk born in Yorkshire, England and her mother's line back to Hansom Farmer born in Virgina and buried in The Farmer Cemetery in Fannin County, Georgia.
My lines include: Abercrombie, Allison, Arp, Baily, Baugh, Byers, Davis, Dickey, Dillard, Fain, Falls, Farmer, Gibbs, Heaton, Henry, Key, Kilpatrick, Love, Painter/Panter, Pittman, Prewitt/Pruett/Pruitt, Sidgwick, Shuler, Roberson/Robertson/Robinson, Rogers, Ross, Vaugham, Webb, and Worfolk/Woffork/Wolford.
My husbandd's lines include: Brumbelow, Garrett, Harcourt, Hughes, Long, Mashburn, Panter/Painter, Parker, Stroud, Swaney, Tipton,Turner, and Willoughby.
I love it when I find the stories and pictures that goes with the name. Nothing is more thrilling than when you make new discoveries from your past. Genealogy and I have a love and hate relationship that has become an addiction.

Hi, thank you for sending the info for above. I am not connected to this family and will gladly, if you're related, transfer it to you. The person who originally created the memorial is no longer active and it was transferred to me. It's a long story, but after weeks/months of my trying, without any response, to get a relative transferred to me, Find A Grave administration transferred ALL of the inactive person's memorials in that cemetery to me! Just let me know if you'd like the transfer and thank you for being a Find A Grave volunteer.

Thanks for adding the info for Eliza. Francis & Sarah Brandon are my gggg grandparents & two of my very favorite ancestors. 20 years ago I had little hope of every knowing about the Brandons who went South. Several of us tried. FindAGrave has made it unbelievably easy!
Eliza has quite a memorial! I love it! Her eyes resemble those of the Callaway County, Missouri Brandons - Robert (my ggg gf) & his sister , Annis Brandon Lawson. We cousins never thought we could communicate with descendants of Handsome Farmer! Everyone remembers his name.
