There have been a couple people who felt that taking my photos and reposting them on their Ancestry.com Family Tree without asking me is ok. It is NOT ok. It is in direct violation of Find-a-Grave copyrights http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=listFaqsSome of you feel it necessary to tell me I have not the right to hold copyright laws to prevent you from taking my photos. To help you with your lack of information, I do have the right. Each memorial I have a copyright notice on are photos that I either photographed myself (where obvious dates are in my life time) or I inherited them in a family will. So ... YES ... I have copyright laws on my side. My suggestion to all those who feel it necessary to dictate to others of their rights, you better make sure you are not making a fool of yourself. If you can not prove a person does not have the copyrights then do not say anything at all.If you see any information that is incorrect please email me with the correct information, how you got that information (why you feel yours is correct) and present me with a link to where you got the correct information or a scanned image of the documentation that has the correct information and I will be more than happy to make the necessary changes. There are some memorials I put up, when taking photos of tombstones of family groups, that are not my family. If they are your family members please follow the rules of Find-a-Grave in asking for a transfer and I will be glad to transfer them to you. I will not transfer my family memorials unless I can see that you are closer to them than I am and that you have more information and photos you would like to add.I thank all of you who work at finding tombstones for our requests and just to get the names on Find-a-Grave for others who are looking, to find their ancestors.
