FindaGrave has some incredible research I never would have uncovered, but take heed, I've also found Ancestry.com creeping in here with less than stellar research and records. |
I began researching my genealogy using the research of my grandparents. I found some errors and corrected these and marched on with my research. Been at this for probably over 20 years depending on how you want to calculate it. I find genealogy is just a puzzle, and the only way to solve it is with evidence.
I am a retired U.S. Army, Ranger and Special Forces Team Sergeant (Green Beret).

Glen - I've gone ahead and removed the James and Phebe as the parents of Nicholas. Can you tell me who his parents actually were?

That's true. I've wondered if that could be why Sarah's daughter, who married Judge King, didn't have any biological children from that marriage. It looks like the children she and Judge King raised may have all been Skinner branch orphans. If I remember correctly, Judge King was buried near Sarah, which, of course, doesn't prove anything either. Sharon

Thanks Glen, I understand your frustration. There's way too much copying of unproven data that goes on. Sharon

Dear Mr. Swartz,
I am sorry, but I have no personal knowledge of the subject Cemetery and do not live in that part of Penna. My entries for that Cemetery were gleaned from various websites with the hope of assisting others looking for their Ancestors. Sorry that I cannot be of assistance.

My husband and I are retired military and researching family tree. My DNA test came up as direct link for Alexander Hanna 1737. I have some information (documents) from civil war and such. Wondering if you are still researching. Would love to share info. Email is firstname.lastname@example.org Living in NJ, retired from McGuire AFB. Close to PA and would love to start visiting sites of my ancestors. Please let me know. I am on Ancestry.com and have come up match for James Hanna and Ann Leech. Look forward to hearing from you.

Good eye, Glen. Gary Wheeler and I have shared many photos and I evidently inadvertently grabbed one of his instead of my very similar one that was taken on our trip to Hancock in 2008. This has now been corrected.
