My goal is to provide accurate, complete memorials for those who can no longer speak for themselves and for their families to learn their history. Not only is this a passion of mine it is a lifelong commitment. It is rare a day goes by that I am not working on someone's Genealogy, sometimes it is even mine. |
To Those Of You Who Think It Is Okay To Steal Photos and Claim Them As Your Own:
All photos I put up on this site are taken by me, please do not put a photo on a memorial that you did not take or own from family, stealing photos from newspapers, yearbooks, other sites etc., is just that, stealing. If you do put a photo up that does not meet my criteria or Find A Grave's I will have it removed.
If you want a memorial edited, or transferred please do it through the edit button of the memorial not here. Also I will not transfer my family members no matter how close or distant they are to me.
If I cannot contact you then don't ask me to do anything for you. Either have your messages enabled or an e-mail available, no exceptions. It is so frustrating when I have a question about an edit and I can't contact the person who sent it.
Please note I have had thousands of memorials transferred to me from the hands of volunteers who are inactive. I am slowly going through them and researching their life and updating their memorials as time permits, please be patient. If you find one and they are related I would be more than happy to pass them along to family.

I wondered why he wasn't in the cemetery. That sure doesn't sound right. I can see you have done a lot of work on that whole family.
There are more Doziers on the large family headstone that I'm adding (8 in all). If you happen to see anything that makes you go "Hmmmm?", please let me know. Or if you would like them transferred to you once I get them in and photos added, just holler.

Thanks for the response. I saw that you added added the memorial so you are a starting place. I have also asked the requester. Ted

There is a request for an image for this person. I am working with the Hayward Historical Society transcribing burial records and cannot find this person as you wrote it. The closest person is Joseph T. Silva with the same date for his death as what is posted. There does not seem to be any other Silva close with the initials J. F.

Photo lifted from the obituary, as most are.
Public domain once published, but I'll be home if you want to arrest me later!
|A Family Who Loves Genealogy||It is so true Hannah...|
Thanks again for the lovely words sent my way.
After the accident it was a bit rough. It was very hard in the beginning. I was stunned that something like that could happen to me! I went from running nonstop to never running again. I was baffled...could not understand. It did take me a 'bit' of time to find that something that got me running once again!
Now I let my fingers fly across the keyboard. I flip through records to decipher the information therein contained. I grab baptism records and peruse the pages placing the children with their parents. I search for old cemetery records to find further details.
I do get moments where a tear or two are shed, but I am doing much much better. I started to discover things that I could do and be of some use for. Doing research and fitting pieces of the genealogical puzzle together has intrigued me. The stories to be told and the family to link together does bring great joy.
I see colors in nature and the beauty around me that I never noticed before! The taste of food has gotten better because I have taken time to enjoy it. The conversation with family is more meaningful because I am not in a hurry to get somewhere. It was a great lesson for me. At one point, I was very goal oriented and wanted to get as many things done within a day that I could. I remember going to the State Fair of Texas with a schedule all planned out with our family dashing from one show to another in order to get everything from the fair that we could never realizing that it was in the experience of being with family and enjoying each other that was the key.
All in all I have learned to be happy and content. I do love meeting individuals like you on Find A Grave that do much for this site!
I send you thanks again for being so lovely.
Truly truly appreciated!
Do hope this finds you doing well!

|Valarie Vine||Thankful Sawtelle plot|
I remember taking a 'perspective shot' of the plot with Thankful's headstone. It is by the way, Plot 97-14. I took a look (at the photo), but like you could not read the names on the smaller adjacent headstones fully. Two of them seemed to be for 'Charles ----'. One is engraved MOTHER, but again I could read the last name. Next time I am over there at City Cemetery I will take note of the names of those buried with Thankful Sawtelle and send you the information I discover.

Your graves 96860639 and 96860543 seem to be for the same people as my graves 96860639 and 96860543, but they are in different cemeteries. The ones I posted for Lemuel & Susannah are from pictures I took at the East Union Cemetery. Their son, Lemuel Jr., is burried next to them and there are grandchildren and great grandchildren in the same cemetery. My line goes from Lemuel & Susannah to Lemuel & Dorothy to Arthur & Mary Adeline, all of whom are buried in the East Union Cemetery. Arthur's son, Edwin, (my great grandfather), moved to Massachusetts. I grew up in the house he built. Are you sure that the graves you posted are for the same people??
