Find-a-Grave rocks! |
Let me know if you need a transfer if you can add more bio info. Hope everyone gets out there and photographs some stones - that is the main reason this site exists. Thanks.
I welcome edits even if its just a GPS, plot number or middle name etc. I like complete memorials.
Found this inscribed on a stone in Warwick, Ma.:
"Low in the ground my bed is made,
here in the dark alone I'm laid.
Depart my friends and let me rest,
I'm weary of this wilderness."
Found this on a find-a-grave profile:
Old Bones' profile poem"
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
NOTE: A couple personal policies I follow:
1) I do not link to "burial location unknown" relatives. You're supposed to know where they are buried - that is the whole point of this website.
2) I do not list cause of death unless it is some tragic accident. Would you want to be remembered forever for dying from diarrhea/diabetes/alcohol abuse etc.? I find it a bit tacky - but to each their own.

|Jan Dundas Beaver||Son's Alexander|
This AM I finally did a memorial for the children's parents and wanted you to know that. As yet I haven't found a duplicate for Maud or her husband Herbert Alexander so I did the memorials to link the children. I figure they should all be together once and for all. I have no idea where Maude is buried nor Herbert for that matter but I felt the memorial was in order. I finally put what I could and as more information becomes available I will add it. Thank you for your assistance and the transfers. It's lovely that they are all now virtually in one place.

|Ann Porter Payne||Porter Family|
I have not researched the Porter family in 20-25 years and was surprised to find wife of Richard Porter was Ruth Dorcet and that his parents were Richard Porter and Mary Marledge. Do you know of any documentation for this or who the active Porter researcher is for the present day? Thanks, Ann
|Ann Porter Payne||Susannah Gray Porter|
Do you know the parents of Susannah Gray who m. George Porter?
|Ed Poulin||Kirwan Bilson|
I deleted my duplicate memorial. I thought I had purged all of the duplicates but I guess I missed this one. Thanks for finding it.
I'm just starting on this cemetery. Do you already have the photos?

The cemeteries have been merged!
Now I have lots of updating to keep me busy for weeks, since I can only spend a bit of time each day on the site.
Keep checking back to see the progress.
