PORTIA BRADY GRAVE: PART 2
So I did a little further inquiring with the reliable staff of River View Cemetery about the returned gravestone of Portia Brady (#129992273). They were planning to reinstate the stone in Section 16, Lot 14, but by a twist of irony, they first reviewed their burial records which indicated that Portia's infant body had already been removed from the gravesite back in March of 1941.

The River View staff made a copy of Portia Brady's burial record card for me.
It reads as follows:

BRADY Portia
Permit #3506
LOT 14
Sec. 16
Date Aug. 21, 1906

3/6/41 Removed from grave and remains cremated and
sent to Port Blakely, Washington.
See Permit #22475.

The executive director of River View Cemetery sent me an email earlier today confirming what the burial record card indicated and that they do not know how the gravestone ended up in someone's residential property.

I've asked the River View staff to hold on to the gravestone of Portia Brady. It's a long shot, but I'm hoping there's some way I could get it returned to Portia's living family members.
Any further questions please ask me.
I'm trying to get the ball, or stone, rolling on this one.

Portia Brady Grave
I visit River View Cemetery weekly and keep in contact with the staff.
I will revisit the site and see if they've replaced the stone in Portia's plot. If so, I'll photograph it as well.

RE: Portia Brady Memorial #129992273
It is very interesting to find a headstone. We are Find A Grave volunteers and not associated with the cemetery. My suggestion would be to contact cemetery staff at 503-246-4251 or there is an email request form at their web site: riverviewcemetery.org

Many of the graves at Riverview were moved from Lone Fir Cemetery and/or there may have been vandalism at some point. It would be very nice to have the stone in place.

Thank you for your concern and follow through.
