We're still trying to determine exactly where William Davis is buried. Since you have pictures of his grave markers posted at Three Mile Cemetery in Avery County, and those markers aren't at that location based on visits to there, perhaps you could give some general directions to where these memorials are. Are they near the Wiseman monument? Over the hill? Across the road? Anything?

She married my great great grandfather William Tolley, said to die in 1897. Perhaps Samuel Boone's sister. I have started tracing my family and it starts with the marriage of William and Delilah. They had three boys, Augustus,my great grandfather, Charles Pender and Willard. I hope you have more information than me and would love to learn more

Howard- Thank you so much for responding. After doing some research, i have determined that there is a Three Mile Cemetery in Avery Co and there is a Three Mile Creek Cemetery. I have recently visited and photographed Three Mile Cemetery (which is along Three Mile Highway ie 19-E) and the only marker there is for Wiseman. The 2 Davis memorials you have there should actually be in Three Mile Creek Cemetery which is along Three Mile Creek off of 194.
I have today created a new Three Mile Creek Cemetery and ask that you move your 2 memorials to that cemetery. (In order to create the new cemetery I had to create a temporary duplicate for Frankie Davis but I will delete it as soon as you move your memorials.
I can provide you more info on the Three Mile Creek Cemetery if you like.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Howard- I have been working with an informal group to locate and photograph all of the cemeteries in Avery Co., NC. I noticed that you have been to this cemetery and thought you might be able to help us. The photograph for Wiseman in this cemetery includes some directions. Could you tell me if those seem accurate to you and if you recall other gravestones in the cemetery you visited.
(I have been to the location described on the Wiseman memorial photo. I walked approx. 200ft North from Bent Rd along 19-E. I could see nothing in the woods and unfortunately that area is posted with No Trespassing signs everywhere)
Any additional info and insights you can provide would be very much appreciated.

Allen Davis's unit was the 29th NC Inf Confederate. Sorry about the misstake, 58th was another family member John Cox.

Thank you for posting these pictures. Daisy's sister, Pansy, was my grandmother. I don't think I ever got to meet Aunt Daisy, but did know another of their sisters, Aunt Pearl, quite well. Daisy looks a lot like Pansy! I have quite a bit of information on the family tree on the Hall side of the family if you are ever interested.
