|I have long, long connections with Wilkes County, NC. I grew up in upper Virginia, the D.C. area to be exact, and would visit here from time to time with my dad, who was born in Wilkes County. In 1967, we moved to CA and I married in 1970 and moved to Oregon where I lived until 2000. At that time, I moved back to CA to help with my parents. Each year, we would visit during late September/early October for family reunions and about two years ago, daddy and mother were getting tired of things in CA in the Bay Area and started thinking about moving. We looked at property in Wilkes County and last September found the home we now live in. We moved from CA to "home" and the moving van pulled up on Dec. 26 of 2007 and in we moved! We are glad to be home among family and friends and while I have never lived here before, it feels like home since my roots go back to the 1770's here and I feel like I know all there is to know about Wilkes (which, I'm sure, is not true!) But, here I am and since I am caregiver for my 90-year old dad and 85-year old mother, (who has since passed away on June 11 2009), I don't work and have some free time on my hands. I am going to attempt to photograph Wilkes County cemeteries over time and since findagrave was so helpful to me, I am happy to be able to add to the lists. I am willing to help with questions and answers about Wilkes cemeteries and history, but cannot guarantee I will do it in "your time". lol I love this website and appreciate all the great contributors.|

You are welcome. I agree that he should be in your care. No problem whatsoever!

Sorry I just realized that you don't have my email address. No problem at all with your keeping Hoover's memorial. I most certainly will not be bothered by it.

I wish you would have emailed me about this privately. If they are acquaintances of yours, and with Nancy being a friend of yours, then of course you should keep him. I only wanted him to be with someone that knew of him or his family.
No problem as he will be in caring hands. You certainly have more connections to the family than I. Although I have met Nancy, Don is really the one that I am close too.

Thanks for the reminder about the memorial #s and
thanks for linking Allen B. Faw to his parents. I have a number of other additions to those graves in the Faw plot. (my family) Either I can send them (with memorial #'s!) via email to you or you could transfer them to me. There are 7 graves in the plot. What would you suggest?

Was my great grandfather - Allen B. Faw (1864-1900)
Can you link his parents?
Caroline Whittington Faw (1820-1908) Harpers Chapel Cem. Caldwell Co, NC + Absolum Faw (Rev)

Erma Hart Badger's Obit: http://www.badgerfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Erma-Badger/#!/Obituary
At the bottom of this page, below the 'printed' obit -- which only states: 'private burial' -- the location of the cemetery (along with other service information boxes) is: Ashelawn.
and, it's Ralph, not Richard, for what it might be worth !!!!!
As with everything in life, it's always the details, isn't it ???????
|Kimberely Faw||Nathan Herman "Jack" Steelman|
I have tried and tried to get in contact with this person and I would told they were banned from Find A Grave. I did ask that it be transferred to me. But I have never heard anything. Will you please delete the picture from the memorial? Thanks
