I noticed that you left a message on the memorial page of Almeda Daily Rowan. You said that she was your 3rd great grandmother. Would you like to take over her memorial page? I created it when I did the Peak Cemetery, but I would love to see those pages go to family members. Just let me know and I'll be happy to transfer it over to you.

Hello, just wondering why you don't add the obit for Jack Steever that I sent you. Gene
|Gene Hammerstrom||John Steever|
Hello; This the obit for John Steever if you want to add. Gene
The community lost a well-respected leader last week when Jack Steever died Tuesday evening, Mar. 6, 2001, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD, as a result of a auto-train accident on the Main Street of Lennox that afternoon. He attained the age of 75 years, five months and eight days.
John Henry (Jack) Steever was born on the home farm northeast of Lennox, SD on Sep. 28, 1925, the son of John H. and Tillie (Snuttjer) Steever. He attended Bedford rural school and Lennox High School, graduating in 1943.
On Jan. 14, 1951 he was united in marriage to Lola Drew at Eastside Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD.
Following their marriage they farmed on the home farm where Jack lived his entire life. He and Lola had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 14 of this year.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Paul, who died at four years of age in 1960; two brothers: Robert, who died in infancy and Harley J. Steever who died in 1985 and one sister: Betty (Pat) Bechtel in 1996.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Lola; his three children and their spouses: Tom and Lori Steever of Downers Grove, IL, Nancy and Gene Kuper of Arlington, TX and John P. and Sara Steever of rural Lennox; five grandchildren; five sisters: Evelyn Ingalls of Lennox, Talitha Skaff of Mankato, MN, Delores DeVille and her husband, Frank, of San Antonio, TX, Vyonne Glaze of Rapid City and Shirley
VanRaam, all of Sioux Falls; a sister-in-law, Mavis Steever of Lennox; a brother-in-law: Don Bechtel of Sioux Falls.

No there wasn't any large stone, but there were two other Peterson stones next to hers. One was for Christian and the other was Helen. Both were of the same design. I've taken and entered the data for each of them and all the other Peterson's that I came across in the cemetery, while there. That way, if they are also related .... you'd have their information.

I had looked for this headstone the other day with a man by the name of Tim from the office. the headstones that are shown aren't the right ones. We looked in both books from the office. The Hartwicks that are shown in these photos are not the right people. They are a couple of blocks over. Sorry .
|Paul Fiskum||RE: Thank you!|
Sorry there aren't markers but they are next to wife and mother, Theresa.
|Gene Hammerstrom||RE: James Ingalls|
No, sorry I don't. I have now just started with Lennox Cemetery to link all relationships. Winter is about over, so may have to wait until next winter. Gene
