|John Franklin Lutz||Rice genealogy in Worcester|
Have reached a 'brickwall' with my Rice branch. Could use some direction.
My Anne Rice married Patrick McEvoy/McAvoy in county Louth; Patrick died in Ireland, however, Anne Rice McEvoy/McAvoy and her children made it to Worcester. Anne (1798-1876)----can't find her burial, thought it would be in St. John's, Worcester.
My other connection is through her relatives buried right in front of Anne's son and family--James McAvoy. It is Hugh 1797-1877 and son Owen Rice 1844-1872 Are your Rices connected to Hugh? He married Alice Trainor 1812-1899; and, are Alice Trainor and Mary Ann Trainor related?---they both married Rices!
Ron, I have numerous surnames of neighbors in and around Jenkinstown, county Louth also on the ship Manhattan and also living, dying and buried in St. John's----they are: McEvoy, Rice, Traynor, Trainor, Floody, McArdle (sp?) Finegan and Doherty. They also appear in Griffith's Valuation under Lord Clermont!
Lastly, I was told by my grandmother years ago, Anne had Rice relatives in Marlborough, MA. during 1850-1900 period.
Any of this connect to your searching??
Thanks for reading this note. . .
