Genealogy isn't really researching the dead but researching who set the roots for who you are today. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Lord, help me dig into the past And sift the sands of time, That I might find the roots that made This family tree of mine.
Lord, help me trace the ancient roads On which my father's trod, And led them through so many lands To find our present sod.
Lord, help me find an ancient book Or dusty manuscript, That's safely hidden now away In some forgotten crypt.
Lord, let it bridge the gap that haunts My soul when I can't find, The missing link between some name That ends the same as mine.

Duplicates I appreciate anyone who posts to make sure that they dont create duplicates. If you see that I have accidently created one, please let me know.
Transfer requests If you have changes or transfer requests, I prefer you use the EDIT button function as it gives me a link to the memorial and makes the process quicker. Please remember the Findagrave rules when requesting. Include relationship when sending the message via the EDIT function. I sometimes go out of the guidelines depending on the request. I dont mind pictures added or you sending me any information to add to a memorial. Remember there are lots of persons you may be related to but we all cant manage the same relative at the same time.
Added vs Managed Ive had others transfer memorials to me to manage as they wished to do it, not because I asked. Now that I have them, I am happy to manage them as most are related somehow.
Photos If you see a photo I've taken and you wish to use it, I like you to cite me as the source as I went through the effort to get it. Please do not copy a photo I've posted on one spouse's memorial to post the other spouse. Let me know you've made the spouse memorial and I'll post the photo.
A Bit About Me I have enjoyed genealogy since 2000. Like to add any cousins to my tree. Like to help people and take pictures of all stones in any cemetery. My husband graciously assists as needed. He listens when a new cousin is found. A lot of the time I am not related to the person's stones that I post but if in Nelson, Washington, Casey or Marion Counties of KY - my children are probably realted.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+* We are the chosen. In each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts, but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe. *+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+* | |

 | RE: Elmer Benningfield The photo guy said he did not see a grave beside her, he took the photo of her grave. He still has lots of photos to add, maybe he is buried somewhere else. I will check at the library when I get a chance. Could he have been buried somewhere else?

 | Sudie Miller Crady in Rolling Fork Baptist Church Cemetery, Nelson Co., Kentucky Thank you for letting me know that I created a duplicate for her. I have moved my picture of her headstone over to the memorial you had already created for her and have deleted the one I created.
