|I have no desire to take care of thousands of memorials here. I'd only like to add information or take over direct ancestors that aren't maintained by direct /related family members if possible. I do appreciate the people that took the time years ago to add all the names in a cemetery. I would think though, that they would want a memorial in the hands of a direct relative since their name will remain as the person that created it. I would not delete that information as it's not fair to the person that took the time to enter it in the first place. |
I am disgusted though with some of these early volunteers that have 10's of thousands of memorials whom then turn around and complain about the amount of emails and messages they get but yet refuse to turn over a memorial of someone that ISN'T their ancestor nor even related in any way.
Overall, I appreciate the correct information and family links added and have no real need to be the person taking care of it. I do like seeing it being in the hands of someone in the family. If you're going to maintain a memorial, please do it correctly and add the family links and information that's sent to you.
I'm more than happy to share what information I have.

You are very welcome!! Photos are on the memorials of the Greenfields. Willie is on the same side of the stone with George. I'll check again in that section for John but according to the cemetery book he has no stone at the time the book was made. Let me know if you need anything else. Carla :)

No, William. That's a privately issued headstone. He is entitled to a VA headstone although replacements are getting harder and harder to get. Are you a relative?

BTW, I'm a "she". I'm the one who applied for and arranged for the setting of the new stone. :)

Winslow has been added to my CW Virtual Cemetery. I just posted a photo of Pvt. Greenfield's new headstone. It's a beautiful stone and a great improvement on the one that was there and that was illegible. Is Winslow a relative of your's too? You might want to consider applying for a replacement headstone for him. He has a private marker right now but he should be eligble for a VA marker. Contact me at email@example.com if you are interested in persuing this further.
I've removed the duplicate. His new VA headstone was set last month.

I have added your obituary for Oliver ~ if you are interested in maintaining his memorial, let me know. I have no relation to him or Mary...I documented the cemetery so their relatives could be found. Sheri Ross
