Bio and Links
Bio Photo I began my ancestral search in 1972 and after retiring have spent an inordinate amount of time tracing my surname by subscribing to online sites, visiting distant relatives and walking cemeteries. I have met many helpful and encouraging people along the way. I enjoy the history surrounding these gravesites and the stories told by my aging kin. I tried hard to link my family before my dad passed but did not succeed until year 2010, 2 years after his death. I had a great deal of help from genealogical societies in Illinois counties and their family files and I am deeply grateful.

Hollie H Smith is aka Henry H Smith
Henry/Holly H Smith has been a brick wall for some time. My grandmother told me in 1976 that his nickname was Hawley. I never considered it might be spelled Hollie until I accidentally found his death record which identified his parents as Robert Smith and Amanda Oldham. Robert and Amanda are my ggggrandparents and the parents of The Henry Hawley Smith brick wall. FYI I have posted info about them on my public Ancestry tree: PLB Benton Family Tree. If you have photos I would love to see them. Thank you for posting Ossie's gravestone, it's odd that I can't get Hollie's by a search window. Paula Bentley, a Kentucky cousin

Marie Rednour (#19484532)
Do you have personal knowledge about Marie Rednour? I'm trying to account for all individuals who graduated from Gorham High School (a small school in Gorham, Illinois that drew students from Neunert, Jacob, Cora, Raddle, Jones Ridge). A Marie (Sumner)Rednour was in the class of 1926. She would have been born about the same time as the Marie Rednour for whom you've made a memorial. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

RE: John Harbour
Not sure if the Taylor line that I come from is related to the Taylor's there in St. Louis. It would be interesting to find out though.

Judi Wydick
Wydick's in Illinois
As far as I know all of my relatives are in Michigan. My Grandfather, Philip Wydick was actually born Philip Vojtek in Pennsylvania and he and his 1 brother, George, and 2 sisters, Rose and Julia also changed their last names to Wydick. Unfortunately no knows why.
