My husband says I spend too much time in graveyards, doing genealogy and on the computer. Maybe he's right.|
My favorite cemeteries are Mount Hebron in Winchester, Virginia, and Rock Creek in Washington, D. C.
- When I started contributing to Find A Grave the following was listed under FAQs:
What are your naming conventions?
Unless the legal name contains a hyphen, punctuation, including the () and /, should not be included in the memorial name. Full capitalization (ALL-CAPS) of names should not be used, whether it be surname or the full name.
- I see that they have changed their FAQs to the following:
What are your naming conventions?
Unless the legal name contains a hyphen, punctuation, including the () and /, should not be included in the memorial name. Periods are to be used after initials, as in normal English. Full capitalization (ALL-CAPS) of names should not be used, whether it be surname or the full name. Suffixes and Prefixes do not belong in any name field.
- I am adhering to what was the convention on Find A Grave when I first checked FAQs. Rather than change over 18,000 memorials, I will stick with the original rule.
I have received nasty messages from some who disagree with my choice of staying with the original convention. If you supply a middle name, this will solve your problem.

|Kathy||Bishop McKearney Davis|
Hello, Thank you for all of your good work documenting these family graves.
Regarding Bishop M. Davis. I believe his mother was Susan Jane Marshall. I saw the last name of Monger in the transcribed index and think this is a mistake. Do you have a source for his middle name as well?

|Sheryl Harm||John Tayler|
I see that you added the marker for a John Taylor in the Eleys Ford Baptist Church cemetery. And that he was a WWII veteran. I noticed just recently that another marker has appeared to the left side of his with the name George Taylor. Do you know anything about him? Was John Taylor a family member of yours? What caught my eye was that someone had placed an American flag on George's marker. I usually place the flags on all of the markers for the veterans and then remove them when the holiday has passed. When I saw this lonesome flag out there I thought that perhaps I had left one behind. But this was not one of my flags and I did not have him listed on my group of names. If you could help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks, Sheryl Harm

I would like to request a transfer of Mary Alice Kibler Crawford's Memorial (#59232432)to me? Mary is one of my Maternal Great Grandmother's. Thanks in advance

I removed the photo from the son's memorial page and placed it on his father's memorial page. My apologies for the initial error. I hope this makes things right. ~JT~

Don't be surprised if the obit you posted today is soon deleted by F.A.G. They've been cracking down on these lately.

I'm writing a story about 19 men who gathered every month from 1880 to 1920 at the Haymarket Agricultural Club. My grandfather, Franz Peters, and N. T. Depauw were members. How can I get a digital copy of the picture of Col Depauw at Findagrave.
Dear Concerned Find-A-Gave Contributors and visitors,
Regarding: DUPLICATE MEMORIALS in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia
A former large volume F-A-G Contributor had a dispute with Find-A-Grave staff and Deleted some 80% or more, of their contributed memorials, estimated to be about 40,000 or so. Thus causing the rest of us local Contributors, over the last year or more, to re-enter those family, friends and distant relatives we noted were missing.
Once F-A-G had decided to take positive action, they reloaded all the Deleted memorials from that former F-A-G Contributor, on Wednesday, 25feb2015. F-A-G staff, undoubtedly knew they would cause tens of thousands of Duplicates, and assigned their staffer, known as 'ProjectMgr' to work through their Merge process.
Please be patient and allow F-A-G to work through the entire group of Duplicate memorials.

Thanks for your work cataloging grave stones.
In regards to George William Binsted you have listed his wife as "Husband of Florence M. Maisey"
but the grave stone seems to indicate that the wife is "Florence B. Tyrell".
I am not doubting you, just trying to understand?
My interest is because Edith Mary Binsted is my grandfather's 3rd wife.
