My husband says I spend too much time in graveyards, doing genealogy and on the computer. Maybe he's right. My favorite cemeteries are Mount Hebron in Winchester, Virginia, and Rock Creek in Washington, D. C. | |

 | RE: Mabel G. Russell Van Cleave THANK YOU, again, Audrey! I tried every way I could think of to get her to come up on the 1940 census, but with your information re: "Atlantic City, NJ" it came up by just putting that location in 1940.
I really appreciate all the help you've given me!
GOD BLESS YOU!

 | Mabel G. Russell Van Cleave Audrey,
THANK YOU for her husband's obituary!!!!! I sent Robert Adrian Van Cleave, Jr's obituary on to Oakwood Cemetery, since he and Mabel aren't in their records. That totally dispels the family "myth" that Mabel moved to Falls Church ("from wherever Robert was buried") after she was widowed (since she outlived him!)
I do not have a death date for Mabel (if you have access to her obituary as well?) The family has been in total agreement since I started asking questions in my 20s that she lived in Falls Church until her death and is buried in an unmarked grave in Oakwood Cemetery (as a matter of fact, she is the person who bought the huge family section there in the first place).
The only date I know is that she was born August 1879 in Philadelphia, PA and died in Falls Church, VA, after her husband, Robert.
Her Find A Grave Memorial: # 102472282
I sent a list of about 14 relatives to Oakwood Cemetery for Plot info -- she had already been on the phone with me earlier that day, so I didn't want to monopolize her time (I don't have obituaries for most of them).
THANK YOU (you're an ANGEL!) GOD BLESS YOU!

 | Robert Adrian Van Cleave, Jr. Audrey, I went through all my Oakwood Cemetery burials and realized I had no plot numbers for any but Robert's son, Richard A. Van Cleave (Section D - Lot 59).
You transferred #40194787 -- his father, Robert Adrian Van Cleave, Jr. -- to me, but the cemetery told me they have no record of him being buried there. There must be a reason why you established his memorial there. Did you find an obituary, or did you see a marker before it was removed by a vandal, or some other reason?
If he's not buried there, I don't know where he's buried. Thanks for your help!
GOD BLESS YOU!
Love in Jesus, Donna | | | | [View all messages...] |
