First I guess that I should say that I have been doing this for the better part of my life. Almost 55 years.|
My early days included clipboard, many hours in the death certificate office and a Kodak 110 camera. I thought I was something when I got my first 35mm, and of coarse my 2 or 3 digital cameras I wore out the first 2.
Well Guess that's enough about me. I could ramble on and on.
Here is a list of my (Find a Grave's) policy on a few things .
I TRANSFER REQUESTS
We handle transfer requests in accordance with Find A Grave policy as quoted below. Please do not request a transfer unless the request follows those guidelines. Please note that transfers are only required if you are a direct relative within four generations per the Second section below. Below is Find-A-Graves transfer guidelines:
How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Third, If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question with your request to have the memorial management transferred to you. This will send an email request to the contributor, even if there is not an email address listed on their contributor page.
Fourth, Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made. Be advised that memorials listed as famous or maintained by Find A Grave will not be transferred.
Fifth, The "Suggest a correction" feature may also be used to submit corrections, an original biography, and family links to memorials that do not fall under the above defintion. (Be sure to include the memorial ID#s for the family links and how they are related, father, mother or spouse. The original contributor should make any corrections and add any additional information you have for that memorial, such as links to parents and spouses, provided the information is accurate.
Sixth, Please note that it is not appropriate to request a transfer and then, after receiving the transfer, delete that page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created. This practice denies credit to the original contributor. Please use the original memorial page to make updates and add information.
I always want to be here to help anyone that I can, so if you need anything, please message me.
Please, Please double check your corrections that you would like to have made on memorials. It's hard on all of us when we get 2 or 3 corrections.

|Charley6284||William Vance Bundy City Cemetery, Raliegh, NC|
BeeManTim I am confused.... Willaim V Bundy is related to Lou Alice Bundy and James Winford Bundy (my Grandmothers 2nd Husband). I have copies of James Winford's death certificate stating that he was to be buried in the City Cemetery in Raliegh, NC. Upon checking Find A Grave, there was only one "Bundy" recorded. That was WV and JW Bundy's mother Lou Alice. I also contcted the City Cemetary it's self and was told that the Cemetemy is not kept up very well and that many records were missing along with head stone damage from a storm that came through a few years ago.
Since your information sites William Vance Bundy being buried in City Cemetery, do you possibly have a local were Winford is buried in The City Cemetery? How is it possible that so many recoreds being lost for one Cemtery? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you,
|David Stanley||James Wahington Langdon|

Please add his parents. William and Jutsey Rhodes Martin. # 8514900 and # 8514907.
I am also curious how often you go back to a cemetery to get new info. My great-aunt Pauline Boyette and her husband Lawton are now buried at Clyde's Chapel. Pauline died in 2007. I can't remember when Lawton died.

I believe you accidently attached this woman to James Bryant Smith. She was born 50 years prior to James, and there is absolutely no record of James living with this woman.
Whoops. I hit the enter button by mistake. This is just a belated thank you for adding the missing given name to Virginia Allen's memorial. By now you probably have received my latest SAC regarding her death date. I have enjoyed doing this research on the Allen family and appreciate all the work that you have done in the first place by adding all these Allen memorials to Find-A-Grave.
In due course, as time permits, I will be sending a few more SACS asking that you link some of the other children to their parents (Elvius & his first wife, Virginia or to his second wife, Annie.

Dear BeeManTim, I want to start by thanking you so much for all the work you've done!! My maternal Grandmother was Grace Myrtle Parrish; her mom was Elizabeth Alice Sloan, sister of David Hornsby Sloan. I have original documents and letters. The letters are from David, his brother John, & their Mom, Sophia Catherine Dye Sloan. These were sent while David & John served in the civil war. I have always felt a closeness with this family due to the love my grandma had for them. She gave me the letters & documents just before she died, because she knew my love for them also. I have shared copies of some of them on my Gore-Heath tree on ancestry.com. I would love to manage this memorial site (#23379661). I have all the siblings, plus birth & death dates. Please allow me to do this. Again thank you. Sincerely, Judy Gore Heath
