|Howard DeVoe||RE: Sleepy Hollow/Old Dutch|
Thanks for writing. I've only recently gotten around to adding citations of Find A Grave memorials to my genealogy database. In the process I've been suggesting numerous additions and corrections to the memorials as you know.
I'd be very pleased to have you transfer the memorials related to my family tree (the ones for which I've submitted corrections) to me.
About the Old Dutch Burial Ground: this cemetery is still listed by Find A Grave, and has several memorials in it. (More accurately, the name is The Old Dutch Burying Ground of Sleepy Hollow, but that's a minor point.) So the merge you mention is apparently not complete. I understand the problem: it's not always obvious to know whether you're standing in the Old Dutch Burying Ground or the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Perhaps the cemetery decriptions need to be expanded to explain this. I'd be interested in looking at the discussion about this among Find A Grave members, if it's available.

I sent you links for Gertie, but at closer inspection, I'm not sure. I think this could be Gertie Hoyt daughter of Wilbur and Angie Hoyt. Her death date would be 17 Aug 1878. Her birth date: 21 Aug 1876. That would make her 1 yr. 11 months and 27 days old at the time of her death. All the info came from a stone I had photographed a number of years ago. Sometimes these stones are very hard to read. I thought if I gave you more info, you could decide if it matched. Thank you for adding her memorial.

You've definitely been busy! If you come across Caleb Pierce and his wife Hannah Halstead, I will be overjoyed. My great grandmother never learned where they were buried. His father William Pierce is also a mystery.

Thank you so much for doing the correction so quickly. I would be happy for you to transfer the memorials to me if you would like. Harriet died tragically in a car accident in her 40's and I've always felt like making sure she is remembered in the family.
Thanks for everything you've contributed!

Thank you for making all of the edits!
I have not had success with contacting the admins. I tried twice to log in to the forums, but no luck! I entered my information for a new account and it said that it would email me with a confirmation, but no confirmation ever came. Do you know how to get around this?
