I live in Central Illinois and I have been researching my family tree for about 10 years now. My interest in researching my family started with an 8th grade English project and also a love of history.
About 25% of the people I entered on here are related to me. If you have a connection to anyone I have entered, please leave me a message, we could be related.
Also contact me if you have any additions or corrections to any memorials I have added. If you would like me to transfer ownership of memorials, contact me with your Find A Grave # and I will switch it for you.

Thank you so much for both of Homer A. Kenyon's headstone photos; one for his Civil War Service, and a second one providing his birth and death dates. It doesn't get any better than that!
|Meier C A||RE: Elmer Schrotberger Correction|
Somewhere I must have gotten 1936; however, I am not currently on Ancestry.com so I can research my info. One source was his WWI draft registration card which must have said 1936, but as stated before I cannot currently view. Let's go with what is on the marker - 1937. Thanks for contacting me. Many of my Meier family are buried at Good Farm Cemetery including John Leonard Meier, my 2nd great grandfather.
I have searched the stated plot or section and could not find the grave of Benj Ferreira. Due to ruined tombstone or gone.
I am here to give ya info so you can put it in Benj Ferreira.
He's interred in 7/17/1878
Lot No.: 406
Aged: 8 yrs.

|Dave Drinan||RE: Catherine Conway|
The Catherine Conway (1881-1961) that is buried in the Oaklawn Cemetery West of Dwight I believe is the wife of Phillip J. Conway. In an Illinois Death and still births from 1916-1947 has Phillip John Conway (DOB=June 21,1873; DOD=August 6,1945). His spouse is listed as a Catherine Dettlefron Conway. I walked the Oaklawn Cemetery about 3 weeks ago and could not find her grave. Her niece Margaret Conway Hagerty is also buried at Oaklawn
In an 1870 Census it has James Conway age 26, (Birth year 1944); wife Mary Birth year 1847 with a daughter Margaret (age 8 months)
In an 1880 census it shows a Mary Plunkett Conway age 30 as widowed and running the farm
with these children 1. Margaret(age 10), 2. Phillip (age 9),3. May (Age 7), 4.Katttie,(Kate (age 4), and Edward Stewart, (Age 16).
On September 3,1880 James W. Conway was born. This is my grandfather. The cemetery recodrs Show that James Conway, the husband of Mary Plunkett Conway and the father of her children died ON May 15, 1880, four months before my grandfather was born. A cemetery record I have shows a James Conway buried next to a Mary Brown (1874-1939)and Alexander Brown (1871-1950). On their Headstone they have listed Mary as Mother and Alexander Brown as Father. To their immediate right in single graves for Phillip J. Conway 1871-1945 (Headstone says "Son") and Katheryn Conway 1875-1952(Headstone says Daughter)
The Illinois Secretary of States Office shows that Mary Plunkett Conway married a William E. Finley in 1887. William E. Finley died in 1899. This is where the cofusion comes in
1. Did Mary Plunket Conway Finley marry a 3rd husband by the name of Alexander Brown? or
2. Is the Mary Brown based on the dates on her headstone (1874-1939)a daughter to Mary Plunkett Conway? or
3. At the time of Mary Brown's Death did the numbers get transposed by the engraver from 1847 to 1874. It is unusual for someone to marry a person that is young enough to be their son or daughter
