Re: Sarah Buck
I took a close up of the middle initial and it does
look like a "C" rather than a "G". I did not see any others around her stone. There are two other "Buck"s buried in this cemetery and I will look for them today. The cemetery index says "d. 9 Aug 1894 43 y wife of Abram" for Sarah.

RE: Joseph Forney Gravestone in Lichty Cemetery
It was a beautiful day, we don't live in that area but our veterinarian is over on the other side of the mountain in Somerset. So we made a morning appointment with our canines, packed a picnic lunch, did some bird watching after the appointment on Somerset Lake with our picnic lunch. Then we meandered our way home and did my first Find A Grave visits. It was a grand day. At the Lichty Cemetery, there were a few headstones that were not legible, some overturned and buried in the ground, but there were also some missing. We traversed through the graveyard multiple times in hopes of finding Joseph Forney. Sorry we weren't successful!

Dale,

It is my pleasure to have taken the picture for the site. My daughter and I go there each Sunday and take pictures for the F.A.G. site. Some like yours were requested and some we just go up and down the isles taking pics of each stone. then we go home and enter the ones that do not have pics

It is a real family affair as my granddaughter also joins us and cleans the stones with her wisk broom if needed!

If you ever get the chance stop there and walk thru the cemetery. It is peaceful calm and awe insppiring as you walk amng the stones of all that served so that we can live the life we live.

RE: Minnie & Mary Puterbaugh
You are Welcome, i have been working Shannon Cemetery since 2009 and that stone is probably not readable at all at this point, next to the Monument for the twins is 3 small markers, nothing can be seen on them now, I assumed they were for the twins and maybe another child, on the side of the Monument it looks like there may have been another name on it but has been worn away by age. I know there are Puterbaugh's all over Carroll county, so i would be just guessing as to parents...William and Mary ...that would be a huge headache figuring out the right ones.

good luck with your search

Forney
Dale, It has been a few years before I thought Forney. You have been busy. I was looking for Nancy Elmira and found you. I and know others appreciate all the work you have done.

RE: Catherine Studebaker
Dale,

You'll never believe it, but I just found a third Catharine listed there. This one is wife of Noah Studebaker, 1853-1922. I took a bunch of photos there tonite and did actually run across one that wasn't listed in this book, as being buried there. So there is hope yet. I'll let you know if I find anything else.

Dale,

Yes it is. I do plan on making another trip out to that cemetery, most likely within the week. I will look again to make sure I didn't miss it.

Catherine Studebaker
Hi Dale,

I searched the Yellow Creek Cemetery tonite and could not find a Catherine Studebaker with the dates that you had listed. She is not listed in the Kent Township Burials, Stephenson County Illinois, Compiled by Gary R. Price, as being buried there. There are alot of missing older stones, so that could be another possibility. I did find a Catherine Finkenbinder Studebaker but she died in 1907. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
