THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
by Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

|Brad and Lyn||Charles Mulanax|
Hello, I just filled your photo request for Charles. I realize it is a little difficult to see. If you are not able to see the larger version of the photo, please let me know. I will be back out at Woodlawn in the next few days and will take a close up photo of just Charles' side of the headstone.
Have a Happy Holiday Season,

Just a note to let you know I have added the cemetery info to Jack's page.

WOW, I am such a bad message writer! I left out the key word: obituaries. Sorry for the confusion. If you are interested in the obits, I can send them....

|Kathy G.||Meryle Marie Gray Christopher|
Hi Jonathan, I am working on my Jack family history and came across an obituary for Meryl. Her husband John Christopher's mother was a Jack. I have scanned the obituary and wanted to check with you to see if it is ok with you to post the picture of her obituary on her memorial. I will also send you a copy of it if you want to give me your email address. Just let me know. Thanks.

You are welcome. I also found Nettie Merley tho' there is not much information on her. The only information I could get from the office was a burial location and year of death. Would you know where she fits in with the other Merley family members and her dates of birth and death? Red

|Malia Richmond||Birdie E. Fauver|
I found on the website where my great aunt was not linked to my great grandparents. Birdie E. Fauver is the daughter of James Fredrick and Hester Ann "Hettie" Fauver. Their burials are located at Baden Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Leon, WV. My grandmother, Freda Ann Fauver Burdette, is the only child living. She will be 100 in February.
Thanks for all of your work!
