As a child, I always had a closeness to my "old folks" as we called them then. I loved to hear their stories of years gone by and would listen for hours. My upbringing instilled in me the importance of family and family history. Both of my parents were very proud of their families and where they came from. I hope to pass this pride on to my own children and grandchildren. In addition, I have needed and gotten help many times over the years in locating missing info from out of state from people I have never met. They just give because that is the kind of people you will find in doing this type of research. So, I thought what better way to pay back than by posting what I can in my area that might help someone else.
