What is the family name on it? firstname.lastname@example.org
|The Genealogy Genie||Charles Van Sickle|
Hello! I received your message regarding Charles H. Van Sickle. I am a Van Sickle researcher as well as the creator of the Van Sickle Family site at Facebook. I have many in my database with that name. I am assuming you are referring to Charles Henry Van Sickle (1887-1960) who is buried in Pompey, New York. I obtained his death and burial information from his death notices published in the Cortland Standard and DeRuyter Gleaner newspapers.

I actually went to the Plymouth Department of Municipal Services which oversees the cemetery. They had previously given me the lot and block number but it is just too big without further detail. So, they actually have several large plot maps in the office - they don't mail them because they are so big (2' x 3')with detail. I took a picture of the area with my camera. It helped me to find the right spot in the cemetery.
Sorry there was no gravestone - but at least you have the spot.
|Linda Haney||Taking photos|
I read of your interest in taking photos. If you would like to "adopt" a cemetery in your township/county to take photos of the headstones of civil war veterans buried there, I would love to add them to our "Pillars of Honor" website. Please vist there at www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mipoh and see if it is something that would interest you. I live in Grandville, Michigan but e-mail and snail mail works great for transferring photos. Let me know if you'd like to join our team. Linda

I have Pvt. Smith's gravestone picture and will send it to your e-mail. You may, however go to www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mipoh - click on the left hand side of the Home Page on "Counties - Cemeteries" - go down to Ken County and then to the Grandville Cemetery. Another way to view it is to click on "Surnames" and then "S". All veteran names are arranged by alphabetical order so you can scroll to George H. Smith and then click on his name to view his personal stone. Going to the cemetery link will show all civil war veterans buried in the Grandville Cemetery.
|Michael Stephens||Mary Downer|
Riverside Cemetery indicated Mary Downer is buried in Block C Lot 44. I walked the entire Block C and did not find her grave.
|B.J. Waters||Clara Stromer|
Hello. I went out to take the photos today, but the headstone located at Siesta, lot 288, grave C has the name "Joseph Burbey", and not Clara. Even Inglewood's online grave locator has that location for Clara, so I'm confused by this. I will create a memorial for Joseph and add the photos, but I don't know what to do about Clara, other than adding a photo of the area until this location can be confirmed by the office. Can you please contact them, and let me know what you find out? In the meantime, I will fulfill your request with the photo of the area, until I hear back from you.
|K Wickman||William Williams in Thayer Cemetery|
I was just looking at Northville cemetery indexes and noticed that William Williams is listed in Rural Cemetery and not in Thayer. Your request is for Thayer. Just thought you might like to double check that you have requested the correct cemetery.
