I have been trying to find my great grandfather's (Sherrod Siler's) tombstone for quite a few years now. So when I visit a cemetery I try to take most if not all of the stones in a cemetery. So if I find someone looking for a stone in a cemetery that I have photograhed I try to to put it on for them.My families are Siler, Kerr/Carr,Faulkner and Mason. Mostly from Kentucky.

Catherine Reed Sears
Hi Ella,
I have that Catherine (Reed) Sears was the mother of Juda (Sears)Hamblen Croley (Memorial# 21741203). Do you know who Catherine's parents were?

Please keep my family in your prayers following the loss of my uncle Franklin Rogers, who passed away yesterday from cancer. If you have time I would appreciate virtual flowers for his Find A Grave memorial 128627148. I am very blessed to have my friends on this site. Thank you,

Sherrod Siler
Thank you for writing me back, I included a photo on J.M. Siler's memorial page (J.M. stands for James Mode as Mode was his mother's maiden name)the photo is an Interment Control Form that shows his death date as 1901 & when I saw an 1850 census record with this J.M. Siler's name on it there was also a son listed as age 1, born about 1849 & the son's name was Sherwood Siler though the alternate name for Sherwood was Sherrod then I saw an 1860 census record & the info was the same so I thought it was the Sherrod Siler you were looking for plus the Ancestry family trees that I saw also had this same J.M. Siler as Sherrod's father, and I noticed that James Siler is listed on Sherrod's death record as his father but if you say this J.M. isn't the right person then I guess I made a mistake, I'm sorry to have bothered you.

Father of Sheord Siler?
Hi, I was wondering if you could take a look at this memorial and see if this is the father of Sherod Siler as I have alot of surname Siler in my ancestry and I am trying to document Siler family members as I find them though I have had some difficulty with some of the military stones.

RE: James Finley photo
Hi Ella,

A clearer picture would be wonderful.

I understand that the DAR person only has 20 minutes to vertify the documents that are sent in with the application, so clearer the better.
I was surprise that the headstone is so clean and clear for the age.

Thanks you so much.

James Finley photo

Thank you so much, you help me great deal with that picture of the James and his wife Keziah.
Isn't it wonderful that they place maiden names and dates on the old stones.
Thanks again.

Newton K Parks
Would you or someone you know where he was buried? He and his brother John H Parks helped start the Church of God Mountain Assembly in 1906. He passed away in 1936.
