I have been researching my family since I was 12 years old. My father encouraged me through storytelling as well as his own love of our family history. |
One of the best experiences that resulted from my research was sitting with my uncle in a North Carolina Presbyterian church were our family worshiped immediately after the American Revolutionary War. Just the experience of knowing about those people and sitting in that sanctuary was truly special.

Thought I'd let you know that I just sent in a correction for the name, as her maiden name was Pruit. But if you would like, maybe you could put "Bowser Kimbrell" in as the last name??? That's up to you, as I have seen where some people have put both husband's last names on a
(Don't know what they would do if someone was married numerous times.)

Burton, I just focused on your first name and am just curious. My Great Great Grandmother who MAY (I'm not sure yet as I'm researching her) have married a Pruitt and did ultimately later marry a Williams Burton. Any connection there?
You KNOW how they repeatedly used the same names over and over to make things so hard for us, yet we continue to do the same thing!
I hope all is well with you.

Hi, Burton - okay, there were two Andrew Elliott Pruitts, the elder (Sr 1860-1847) married my Aunt Wilhelmina (daughter of John R. Franklin), called "Willie" Franklin in 1887. This was Judge Andrew "Drew" Elliott Pruitt, Sr. They are buried in TX. I show Drew Sr to be the son of Jacob Pruitt and wife Nancy Johnson because Daddy mentioned all the Nancys to me. I used to do family history with him before he died. He was absolutely amazing with it!
Then there was Andrew "Drew" Elliott Pruitt, Jr (1888-1970) whose wife was Wilma (1911-1951), possibly also called "Willie"? I think this would be the Aunt Willie your Mother speaks of? The other would be too old for your Mother's memory I believe. They are buried in NM.
Do you have both these Drews?
Thanks much - Nancy
|Nancy Yankie Sidarous||PRUITTS|
Rev Burton - I failed to mention that we own a ranch in Coryell County and my very best friend for many years was born there and lived there until college age. I've met some of the Pruitts she's known forever and they're a very large and well respected family in that community. My friend Katherine is a direct descendant of Robert E Lee; she even has a brother named for him. Her maiden name was of course Lee.
Just a footnote - Nancy

Rev. Bagby-Grose - with great respect, I must ask you if you are sure of your research on this particular individual. I'm doing so with all due respect for your love for your family and your work.
The reason I'm writing is that the father of Drew is my uncle by marriage and I have his full name and that the son buried in NM is a Jr, with different parents than you're showing. Andrew "Drew" Eliott, Jr is the son of Judge Andrew "Drew" Elliott, Sr. and my Aunt Wilhelmina "Willie" Franklin Pruitt. That's according to my family records which have not failed me yet! His parents are buried here where I live in Texas.
Please check and let me know about your records or research. The Franklin family is who I'm related to, of course.
Thank you very kindly.
Thank you for searching for his gravestone!! Blessings! Terry
