Just another fan of Finadagrave." Great service!
Yep! My mother got me started with this. And now, everytime I do a funeral, I tell the people and the funeral home about this site. See, even when we were kids, our mother would take us to the cemetery every Memorial Day. It wasn't a "sad place" for us. It still isn't. In the Judeo-Christian tradition, the word "memory" doesn't mean to look on the past. It means to "make a reality present." So, geneaology and visiting cemeteries isn't a sad thing at all. It keeps the reality present of who helped form us.

RE: Horace Pike
Hi - You are welcome. Since you are directly related, I'd like to transfer his memorial page to you. Would that be okay? Regards, Phyllis

Horace Pike (1839-1882)
Hi - this is in regards to a page initially entered by Patricia Sawmell. I had asked a question awhile back Re Horace Pike and was unexpectedly given management of his page. I just looked up his Civil War history and wound info and added to his page.

If you are related or interested you might take a look at the additional note. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=1081371

His wife's page has a picture of Horace that incorrectly states he was wounded in the hip. Perhaps you would change that to hand. Thank you.

Regards, Phyllis

RE: James Coffey
Thank you Fr. Amaro for helping me with the memorial for James Harrison Coffey and his wife Roberta May. I knew when he was born, I just didn't know when he died. Now I can put some more pieces together to the Coffey puzzle. These Coffey's are descendants of Israel Boone (eldest brother of THE Daniel Boone). Israel Boone had 2 sons and 2 daughters, when he and his wife died at 30 years of age from T.B. Daniel Boone raised these 4 children as his own. So this family history has really been exciting to learn. I put the pictures on their memorials, BUT, I would rather that YOU put them on their FindAGrave memorials. I will take the pictures off when you put yours on. You should get the credit, not me. Once again, Thank you for your help, and God Bless you.

Eva Daughter of Horace Pike
Do you know the married name of Horace Pike's daughter Eva? She is buried in Hart, Michigan. Does she have a Find A Grave memorial?
