First off....FEEL FREE TO USE MY PHOTOS OF HEADSTONES in your family trees...they're the last photos taken of our loved ones' time on this earth....The writing on headstones will fade over time but these pictures on findagrave will not.....|
I've been doing our family genealogy for about 6 years now. I started my journey by looking for the ship my Grandfather came over from Yugoslavia on. I had the information on my Grandmother, but I could never find Grandpa's. Two days ago, on November 10, 2006, I finally found it!!! What a joyous moment for me! Because of my quest to find my family, I've been able to trace my husband's family back to Stephen Flanders (thanks to all the Genealogy books and family trees by Flanders family members), the Mansfield's back to Samuel (1804), and the Wolff's (Wolf, Wolfe) back to the 1700's. What a journey! I am really hooked now on finding our family. All four of my Grandparents were born in Yugoslavia and Lithuania. My parents are the first generation American. Needless to say, it's going to take me a lot longer to find MY roots! I really enjoy walking through cemeteries and taking pictures of unique headstones and the headstones of veterans. I take a picture of EVERY headstone of Flanders, Wolf, Wolfe, Wolff, Mansfield, Josephites, Josephitis, Juozapaitis, Altabas and other family names that may be relatives, because I know that someone--somewhere--is also looking for them. If you are a relative of any of my postings and want me to add family information, please e-mail me. I know how important the names of spouses, parents and children are to genealogists..so any information on my postings are a big help!

Hi Donna. My name is Karen Wengert and I am working on my family tree. I am married to Richard Wengert and I am adding his family into mine. His father's name is Steven Wengert I and he says that Claude is his Cousin. Can you tell me who Bert's parents were? I am a little stuck and I can't quite make the pieces fit. Donald Eugene Wengert passed away 2 years ago and he would have been able to tell me but I don't really know his extended family very well. Any help would be appreciated! :) My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!!

You are very welcomed to use the Mansfield photos or any others! And, yes, it is a small world! The longer that I live, the more true this statement appears to bear out.
PS- If you could offer me any additional information regarding the Mansfield side, I would appreciate it. I am more of a dabbler here, and often do not have the time that I need to contribute to this journey. I leave off at Levi and Emma, Clifford was my great grandfather. He passed when I was young, and it was only recently, that I came across is death certificate. His death certificate states that he was born in Donora, PA. My father reports that he drilled wells as an occupation, and as often occupations are shared in families, I can only assume that his father was a well driller, as well. It is my belief that this family resided father north at one time, near the drake well, Titusville, etc., but I can no direct evidence. I have done some online research, but have found no definitive ties. If you can be of any help, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!
