I am trying to prove the connection between William Roark b1823 who married Martha Patsy to Charles And Lettie Roark and John And Jane Pope. I believe William is the son of Charles and Lettie Roark and Martha Patsy is the daughter of John and Jane Roark Pope. My husband is a direct descendant and I have proven his line back to William and Martha Patsy.

sorry just saw your msg on my page. I'm a descendant also, my surname is Butcher. I'm going by family bibles and aged relatives that have researched the Butcher line for years. The portion of the long line of butcher's that pertains to me is: william, his son, Samuel, his son, Samuel Jr, his sons, John and Ezekiel .... this is the only "proof" you asked for that I can give you.
• William Butcher (1725 – ? )m. Sarah Hogg ( 1749 – ? )
• Samuel C Butcher (1750 – 1814) m. Sarah Puck (1750 -? )
• Samuel Butcher Jr (1775 – 1817) m. Mary Burns (1777 – 1850)
• John Wesley Hartwell Butcher (1814 – 1860) m. Esther Young Callison (1814 -1870)

There seem to be a few inconsistencies between the book and the website. It would be hard to tell which one is correct in each instance. I plan to do a little more research, and if I come up with anything I will certainly let you know! I'm not sure who controls the cemetery. My guess would be the Vernon Township Trustee or the Town of McCordsville. It would be interesting to see what plot information they have. | | | Lindsay (Cleek) Syrus

Hello! I came across your photo request for Margaret Emery in McCordsville, IN. Seeing that someone had already had trouble locating a stone for her, I look in a book that I have with tombstone inscriptions from Hancock County dating 1833-1933. While there are eight interments listed in the book for Emery in McCordsville, Margaret doesn't seem to be one of them.
