Bio and Links
Bio Photo My wonderful grandmother, Maude (Wadsworth) Larson was the one who gave me the genealogy bug 10 years before her passing in 1986. I was lucky enough to get her genealogy work and some of her treasured photos, so I continued on where she left off. In her genealogy papers were obits from not only family but of friends and neighbors and I didn't know really what to do with some of them until I found FAG and knew thats where they belonged in hopes of helping others in their genealogy work, so some of my work here on FAG were obits my grandmother had saved for over 60 years and some of them contain so much information for a family member.

I have always enjoyed wandering around in cemeteries and always found tombstones interesting and was very happy to find FAG and see that there are others like myself interested in graving.

RE: Zebedee & Nancy
Hi Karla - Thank you for letting me know. That's two family markers now that I'd like to get repaired at some point. I'm 99% percent sure that Zebedee & Nancy were my great great grandparents. The John in their 1840 & 1850 Freedom Twp., LaSalle Co. census has the right birthdate and place of birth as my John. My cousin Derry is planning a trip to the area to try to find their original LaSalle Co. land record in Ottawa to confirm that they came to LaSalle Co. from Oberlin Co., OH where John was born. We know they came from OH. I have John Byron Kelley's memorial page at Findagrave and will likely be connecting them to the memorial pages for Zebedee & Nancy at some point. I think I've found where Zebedee & Nancy's son Albert Kelley is bur. in Bloomfield, Hartford Co., CT, too. I suspect that William Kelley d. in DeKalb Co., so Derry is going to look into that on her trip to the area. Sharon

Zebedee A. & Nancy A. Kelley
I'm not sure if the top of the marker is missing or if it's just weathered. Although it says "Kelly" on the base, their surname was "Kelley." When people hear the name "Kelly," unless they know otherwise, they will normally use the shorter spelling. When my great grandfather, who was their son John Byron Kelley, applied for a license to m. Jerusha Bessie Millikin in LaSalle Co., IL, the clerk wrote "John B. Kelly," then John signed it "John B. Kelley." John is buried as "J.B. Kelly" in Grant City, Worth Co., MO. My grandfather Samuel Millikin Kelly finally dropped the second "e" in Kelley sometime after he m. his first wife Della Bowen in Worth Co., MO. He's "Kelley" on the 1888 marriage license application. I've submitted some of my research on the Zebedee A. Kelley family to the LCGS and they have done some additional research for me. Although Zebedee was b. in NY and Nancy in VA, they were in the Oberlin Colony, Lorain Co., OH before coming to Freedom Twp., LaSalle Co., IL around 1839. They were in LaSalle Co. in the 1840 and 1850 census records, DeKalb Co. in 1860, and Wyoming Twp., Lee Co. in 1870.

Zebedee & Nancy A. Kelley
Thank you for adding their cemetery marker. The surname for this family was actually Kelley instead of Kelly. The missing top portion of the marker would have likely shown that. In the list of children, there was also an Elizabeth.

Kelly Family
Karla, I am a descendent of Zebedee and Nancy Kelly who are buried in South Paw Paw Cemetery, Illinois. You have their tombstones on here. Are there any more Kellys buried in this cemetary that you know of? Appreciate all your hard work. I do requests in southern Indiana and would return the favor. :-)

Warren
Hi,
I'm very interested in Benjamin Warren #29219601 who is buried in Paw Paw Cemetery. I think he has a connection to the Gaudineer family, which is a family I'm researching. Do you know anything at all about him? Do you live near there?

Thanks so much,

Pegeen
