I started searching for my ancestors after retiring from the navy a few decades ago. It's my hope that, through the memorials I've posted and managed on the Findagrave site, other people have been able to fill in some of their own ancestral history.|

|Nancy Lane||Heinrich Tobroke|
Thanks for your help in getting memorials for Henry reduced from three down to finally just one!! (The third one was deleted today.)
I'm researching Elizabeth Cornet (Cornett) born 12/18/1817 Washington Co, Indiana she married Oliver Perry Winters in 1837 in Washington CO. and she later died in Iowa in 1886. I requested a death certificate from Iowa, but they were unable to locate one for her. I'm stuck and was hoping your extensive research on the Cornett line might lead to some answers. Also in my looking found Mariah Cornett who appears to the daughter of William and Polly Cornett. Grave Memorial# 83423174. Thank you for your assistance.

|Donna Kennedy||Ray Bowman|
Hi, I'm Donna (Stogdill) Kennedy, granddaughter of Nancy Ellen Bowman. Her son, Ray,was born 2 Mar 1909 in Wyacondah Twp., Davis Co. Iowa. He died Dec 1982 in Merna or Broken Bow, Nebraska. (Soc Sec Death Index) I don't have all of my records available right now but this is the info that I do have. Also, Nancy's husband's name was T.A., Thomas Alcaueh Stogdill. This is the way it is spelled on my father's birth certificate. Donna
|Christopher A Smith||Smiths of Salt Creek Township|
I'm researching the family of Samuel Rice Smith. He had a large family in Salt Creek Twp, and he himself was a Methodist or Quaker minister. He was the father of Louis T Smith who married Belle Martin. Samuel's wife's name was Hulda Wheeler, a daughter of Alvin Wheeler.
If anyone knows anything about these Smiths of Salt Creek, please let me know.
Robert Marshall Smith wrote a book of memoirs titled "The Salt Creek Colony of Egypt". Some of Samuel Rice Smith's sons went west to Carmi in White Co, IL around 1870 or so. This area is called "Little Egypt".
I have yDNA and autosomal DNA for analysis and have a lot of interesting findings to share with researchers of these Smiths.

The link is completed and the page transferred to you. Are there others I can transfer? These were posted as part of my pictures from Page County (Iowa) cemeteries; I have no family connection.
|Tammie Gorman||Lester Hills|
Thanks for posting the pictures. Lester Hills is my biological grandfather. I have never met anyone from that side of the family. It is nice to have a picture.
|Dugg||Fosters Green Moung Cemetery|
Thanks so much for the quick update of the Fosters in Green Mound Cemetery. They're all my ancestors.

|loroo||Damy Laughhawn Bowman #51446789|
Damy, aka Didma, was born to Allen Laughhunn and
Hulda Rose most likely in Salt Creek, Jackson, IN (based on census records for the family). Sadly, the spelling on the Laughhunn name is all over the place (Laughorn, Launns, Loughin, Loughlin, Laun, Laughbam, Latham, Laughum, etc. depending on who was writing it at the time) so it is somewhat confusing following these people around however, for Didma, I was able to find two supporting documents for her name on familysearch.org. The first, a marriage registration between Daisy Laughhunn and Michael J Bowman on 16 Dec 1877 in Brown, IN (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XXVK-BYV). The second, as Damy Laughhunn, mother of David Jackson Bowman (married to Michall J Bowman) for his marriage to Mary M. Mckain (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VZQY-148). I don't know if you want to correct her name or not on her memorial but I also wanted to give you a little direction for anyone that may be following breadcrumbs.

Just wanted to give you an update on my baby brother's stone. We have moved it to Elm Grove
Cemetery, Washington, Iowa next to our Mother. I just thought you might like to remove this.
