RE: James Juniel
Just read the memorial page for this man, do you have any idea who Jane Wade is or where the Juniel family cemetery is located in Bearden?

RE: Dr. Joseph D. Holt (1835-1901)
Hi Paul,
I have been very careful to ensure that I'm not getting records from one soldier mixed up with another one. That Conf Vet magazine seems to have gotten records of the brothers mixed together. However, I found the same error in one of the NARA cards that said Joseph Holt was in Buckner Battery; it was Henry Holt, instead.
I will be glad to share what I have found. We need to link all these families back to their father, Archibald M. Holt, physician, buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Coffee Cty, TENN.

Dr. Joseph D. Holt (1835-1901)
I read you short Bio memorial on Joseph D. Holt buried at Bastrop Cty TX. I have been researching his brother's Civil War service, which lead me to look briefly at another brother, Dr. Geo M. Holt and also at Joseph D. Holt. I think some of your info may be incorrect and you read info from another soldier. Even one of the NARA service records is incorrect as it has Henry Holt's info filed under Joseph Holt. I would like to compare notes on the two Doctor Holt brothers.

John Josey
More information on your memorial for John Josey:
John Josey was elected major of the 15th Arkansas Infantry (Cleburne’s-Polk’s-Josey’s) in April 1862, promoted to lieutenant colonel in November 1862, and to colonel the following April; the majority of the regiment’s service was in the Western Theater, including the battles of Stones River and Chickamauga. In the fall of 1863, Josey was detached on recruiting duty and ordered by the Confederate Secretary of War to report to General Edmund Kirby Smith. He was wounded and captured at the St. Francis River, Arkansas, on February 14, 1864, and spent most of the remainder of the war as a prisoner of war at Camp Chase, Ohio.
He died prematurely, possibly of yellow fever, in Osceola, Florida, in October 1866 and was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Memphis, Tennessee.
