I live in the beautiful Delta area of northern California. I have been researching my family history for over 20 years.

Surnames I'm researching include: Dozier, Bundy, Rowley, Long, Vanderlip, Beebe, Secord, Brown, Abernathy, Spaulding, and Spurgeon. Locations include: California, Iowa, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Canada (Ontario), England, and France.

If I have fulfilled a photo request for you, please feel free to use the photo as you wish in your genealogy records or websites. The generosity of others has enabled me to find my long-lost relatives. I'd like to pay that forward.

Hi Karen, I thought you might want to fix an typeo on the bio of Mary E. Anderson. It reads as follows:

The former Mary E. Anderson, Mrs. Bundy was born Jan. 4, 1970, at Salem, Ind. She was married to Cyrus Bundy in 1889 at Salem. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1918 and to South Sioux City in 1947. Mr. Bundy died April 14, 1956 in South Sioux City.

It should read born Jan. 4 1870.

Thanks for your contributions to Find A Grave. I don't know where I'd be in my research with out all your efforts. Thank you

Thank you so much for answering me that clears things up for me. I have added a couple of of Rhoda's children to Find A Grave John Wesley, Jennie Idella and Mary Minerva and connected them to their parents.

RE: Asher & Mae Burrell
You're welcome. I'm able to look up Los Angeles county death and marriage certificates as I don't live too far from the Hall of Records.

Asher & Mae Burrill
Asher died in Contra Costa county, California, not Los Angeles as listed on his memorial. The only Mae Burrill who died in California between 1905 and 1929 was born in 1876 in Minnesota and died in 1927 in Los Angeles. I can't find any record of the one listed in Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena.

RE: Caroline Rowley
I stopped by the Journal Era -- the Berrien Springs newspaper today and asked Kathy the editor and owner to pull Caroline Rowley's obit from the archives. She's supposed to call me when she finds it. I want to know why was Caroline in Berrien Springs on Main Street? Was she living here or just visiting? And who was staying with her? The doctor certified the time of death as 8:00 pm so somebody must have called the doctor. They didn't just stumble across the body three days later....

She died of "congestion of the brain." What does that mean?

RE: Caroline Rowley

C. (Caroline) Amelia Burtch 1856-1928 is buried in Pine Grove Cemetery in Kent County Michigan.

Thomas Edward Rowley 1862-1933 is buried in Fairplains Cemetery in Kent County Michigan.

Both have photos of their headstones.

Caroline is still missing, although she was supposedly interred in Morton Hill Cemetery on May 27, 1898. Her death certficate says she died on Main Street in Berrien Springs, and I live on Main Street, in a VERY old house. For all I know she could have died here!

What does it say on Lonzo A. Rowley's death certficate? What did he die of? I'm only asking because he died in Chicago on 11/26/1899 and there was an coroner's inquest for Lonso A. Rowley on 11/27/1899. They only hold a inquest if they suspect the person died of "unnatural causes."

RE: Caroline Rowley
Do you know if Caroline had any children other than William and Warren? There was a Hattie Rowley that also lived in Berrien Springs -- she died in 1911 at 49 yrs old. After searching through other Berrien County cemetery records here's the Rowley list, but I still haven't found Caroline:

Oak Grove Cemetery, Berrien Springs:

Albert Rowley died 1/2/1927
Mary Rowley died 1938
Libby Lorena Rowley died 1896.

Rose Hill Cemetery, Berrien Springs:

Hattie Rowley died 1911
Harriet Rowley died 1912
Fred B. Rowley died 1961.

Silverbrook Cemetery, Berrien Springs:

Abigail Cooper Rowley died 1866
Clark R. Rowley died 1932
Daisy H. Rowley died 1953
E.A. Rowley born/Shoreham, Vt died 1871
Mary Julia Rowley died 1912
Raymond H Rowley died 1961 (WWI Vet)
Silas Rowley born/Shoreham, Vt died 1875 (War/1812 Vet)

Are any of these people related to Caroline by marriage or blood?

I also found a US land grant record from 1839 for three parcels of land sold to a Richard G. Rowley.

RE: Caroline Rowley
You probably couldn't find her in Morton because she's probably not there (according to the cemetery records), and even if she didn't have a headstone the records always indicate NS= No stone, but they always give the space number... there's nothing....

Let me do some detective work.....

Uriah Anderson
Karen, I saw where you left flowers for the "elder" Uriah Anderson. I believe he may have been a brother to Levi Anderson, my g-g-g-grandfather. Levi and Margaret had at lease 3 sons, Hiram, Henry and Uriah. If you have any info on this family, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm trying to find any living descendents of this family. Thanks.
