Bio Photo Hi, I am looking for information for both sides of my family. On my mother's and father's side. my mother was born Lynda Maureen Clinton to Hiawatha Lee Clinton and Henrietta Pugh Clinton Schoyen. she was born in England but came to live in Putnam Co a year after her birth in 1945. I know they are related to an Abraham Clinton and to a Harley and Freida Casto. Hiawatha's brothers and sisters are Roy, James otho "oat" and Thelma and a half brother Elmer Harper. My father was born Wayne Sweeney to Thomas Bait Sweeney III and to Maggie Markland Douglas Sweeney he was the youngest of 26 children. if you have any information please feel free to contact me anytime. and i will get back to you as soon as possible.

Duplicates and unknown burial locations
I was looking for Winfield Scott Harper when I came upon your memorials. First you have duplicated his memorial (meaning you made 2 of them a month apart). That lead me to your home page where I looked at the memorials you have created. There are 30+ out of 72, with no cemetery location, some dating back 6 yrs! You do realize that this is FINDagrave, right? The rules to use this FREE website read, in part:

"How do I add a memorial when I'm not sure what cemetery they are buried in? This is similar to adding a memorial for cremation. Use the Family and Friends link and select the Burial:Other and then Recent Death, location of body unknown option. Location of body unknown is used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition ****MUST be determined and updated within 30 days.***" Found here:

That means you HAVE to determine where the person is buried or remove the memorial in 30 days. This is not a website to add what info you have, documented or not, to create a family tree. This is very upsetting to me as I play by the rules.

I would appreciate you following the rules the rest of us follow in order to use this free website.

James Oatho Clinton
I see you created a memorial for him. He is in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Cemetery in NC. I linked him to his parents and to his wife. You might want to take down your memorial and ask Jeff Hubbard to transfer him to you.

Joseph Clinton Jr
I agree with Debrah French Jukoski . You don't confirm any info you put out on the internet. I gotten so much BS over info you put out about the Clintons from WV. You stated info regarding Joseph was a possible Indian Chief of Cherokee, that the family is saying that. Wrong. My family side of the Clintons never said Indian Chief of Cherokee. You need to re-edit your info. You lied about some many Clintons that aint directly related to you.I letted you into my tree and you took pictures and re-intneted them and said the men in the pictures was your grandpas. Wrong. They were my grandpas. That's why I closed my tree off to you.

Joseph Clinton Jr
Researching my 4th great grandfather Joseph Clinton Jr of Lancaster Co, PA and found your memorial for him # 42046203. I am searching records and have found that he was buried in Lancaster or York Co. Your memorial is not even attached to a cemetery at all. Why do you post memorials for family members without a confirmed cemetery? You also state information regarding he was a possible Cherokee Indian Chief. That information is an error, as records show he was caucasian. I ask you kindly to at the very least remove or edit your memorial. Thank you so much.

Elizabeth Bowles
I have researched this and I am confused. At the time of Enoch's death his death info says that he was married in 1841 to Jane. If memory is correct his death info says he was still married to her. maybe this was his Millennium file? So I thought he never married Elizabeth Bowles and we would never find his first wife's name nor the last name of his second wife.
And Elizabeth Bowles cannot be the mother of Agnes (born 1844) and Elizabeth (born 1846) as according to you Enoch did not marry Elizabeth Bowles until 1853.
Do you have proof that maybe he married her twice?
And also Enoch's nephew also named Enoch, son of John Armstead Harper and Rachel Taylor married a Margaret Elizabeth Bowles. (Not to be confused with Enoch's and John Armstead Harper's brother Armstead who married Rachel Bishop) So confusing.
Could there be a mistake and maybe our direct ancestor did not marry Elizabeth Bowles at all? I am just trying to figure it out. I hate it when so many with the same last name then name their children after so many relatives. It makes things so difficult in trying to figure out who married whom. And they would have to have 2 or 3 Elizabeths' and 2 Rachels' to throw into the mix.

Enoch Harper
I could not find Elizabeth Bowles before her marriage to Enoch, anywhere. But now that think about it they were married in 1841. So she would not have her name in any census before 1850. As I did find an Elizabeth Bowles but she was married and had other children, I knew I could not connect that Elizabeth to Enoch. Would you have any idea who he might have married before he married Elizabeth? He is my 4th great grandfather. Samuel from his 1st marriage is my 3rd great grandfather.

RE: Ingabee Hargraves Clinton and Robert Delawler
You sure are welcome! It's great to combine some things I like to do (help others, visit cemeteries) with something I NEED to do, which is get out and WALK! It's a big cemetery and not kept in the greatest shape (not mowed/trimmed and a number of fallen/broken markers), but I hope to have a chance another time to walk around it some more. Take care!
