Family historian/genealogist, have researched my own tree extensively and assisted others with their lines. I add and manage memorials primarily for my own direct line ancestors, and collateral-lines kin. I also do volunteer work locally where I live, adding memorials and providing headstone photos on request for cemeteries in my general area and sometimes other locations that I am visiting for people that I may not be related to. Please use the edit tool to submit any edits/corrections on memorials. I will consider transfer of memorials on request to those who are verified close relatives of the deceased, other than memorials that are for my own direct-line ancestors or in my immediate family. |

|cleaverkin||Jane Ross Douglass|
Jane Ross Douglass (1703-1742), memorial # 25620340 includes the following statement:
"Jane Ross Douglass was daughter of Lord Hugh Ross, Earl of Hawkhead House, Renfrewshire, Scotland."
I would be extremely interested to learn the source of this information.
My direct e-mail is email@example.com.

You left a message in 2013 that read, in part,
"Anne Fleming Penn was the wife of George Penn Sr. She was born in Jamestown, Virginia about 1706 and died in Amherst County, Virginia about 1794. She was the daughter of Charles Fleming and Susanna Tarleton Fleming. Ann's sister-in-law, 2nd wife of her brother Tarleton Fleming, - Mary Randolph Berkley, was descended from Pocahontas through her mother Judith's Randolph lineage."
I am trying to nail down Tarleton Fleming's wives and successors. Could you help me with your source for his second wife (Mary Randolph Berkley) and the date for this marriage? I have him marrying Hannnah Bates in 1723/4 and mentioning no wife in his will when he died in 1750. Any suggestions? Could this be, instead, his son who was also named Tarleton Fleming? Thanks.

Genie, I visited Berger Cemetery yesterday in search of Catherine Milliron, Daniel Crider, and Crispen Dickenson. In the photos you have seen of the cemetery on the Berger Findagrave.com page, only the newer gravestones are visible. The older part of the cemetery is behind these stones and unfortunately all are either unmarked or are illegible now. I fear this is where your folks are buried. About 15-20 graves are in this section, and I estimate that anyone buried before the mid-1830s is here. I took some photos of this unmarked section but will not attach them to their memorial pages. If you would like to have copies email me, email@example.com and I will send them and you can decide. I did find Catherine Milliron's sister in law, Catherine Nowlin Berger's stone, and got it photographed and attached so it wasn't a totally frustrating day. Sorry we didn't have a better outcome. Tamara

Ok Genie, I am on it. I have claimed all the requests from Berger. We had quite a bit of rain today which means the ticks will be fierce, but I will persevere. BTW, a headstone I am working with in a cemetery 2 miles away is for Crispen Dickerson Bennett 1869-1952. Another of your kinfolk or just name coincidence?

Are you still interested in having photos taken in this cemetery? I am photographing sites in a neighboring churchyard, and can fulfill your requests if they are still needed for your research. High summer in a rural Virginia cemetery is not without its dangers, what with all the skeeters, ticks, chiggers and copperheads, so I want to be sure these photos are still of importance to you. Best regards, Tamara

Genie, on the first page of the bio under additional notes on Adam Giesler, Father of Noah Giesler, Sr it says Samuel and Jacob Giesler, (Brothers of Noah) I have found information about Jacob, but not Samuel. Do you know of anything about him? Is he really a brother or maybe brother-in-law? Any info. I really appreciate it. Thanks Doris

I just want to thank you for your hard work and postings that you have done. I have been looking for a long time to find links to my family to the Giesler's. Nancy Anna Giesler who married Martin Gray is how I am related. My grandmother was a Gray. Now I have dates and names and other information to go with what I have. Thank you again.
