Bio and Links
Bio Photo ** I do NOT respond well to rude emails demanding that I make changes to a memorial based on hearsay.

I've been involved in genealogy of some sort or another since I was old enough to sound out the names on a headstone with Grandma and Mom. I research my own family as well as that of friends and those that have contacted me with questions about their own. My Family Names: Hicks, Sly, Oliver, Turner, Hughey, Page, Strauss, Ansley, Arnold... the list goes on. Just ask.

Wandering old cemeteries now is a peaceful outlet for me. I enjoy it. And I don't add names to 'up my numbers' as many do.

In accordance with FAG rulings, if a memorial I've added is part of your family, send a request, and I'll do my best to transfer to you.

If you have an issue with one of my memorials - send me a message.

If you have further information on the memorials - send me a message.

If you have a correction of information on a memorial - send me a message with proof. I'm not going to update information just because "you said it's the right info". IE: if the Indiana death records state someone died in 1894, the headstone says 1894, and you email me and say "he died in 1895"... I'm not likely going to change my info. I may add a memo to the memorial stating 'differing information'.

Anna Armstrong
Hi. I believe the 1910 date on her stone is incorrect. Her obituary appeared on page 5 of the Brazil Weekly Democrat, Wednesday, July 14, 1909. I have posted the obituary on her memorial. Thanks.

RE: Hicks family
We are walking Memorial Park Cemetery section by section with a list of Req's. We'll add any Hicks and Hughey's we find. It was a fun day.

Good catch... thanks for the heads up. I have it correctly in my database, just entered it wrong here. I fixed it. Thanks!

SLY/Slye/Schley Family
I saw you had Sly as part of family. My name "Schley" is pronounced Sly. In my research of the family it seemed like they used Slye, Sly, & Schley. Some of my grandfather's brothers kept the Sly and others went to Schley. Looks like the family came through Maryland then, VA, PA, OH, IN, IA & MO, It was neat to see the Sly on your profile.

Mary Jane Cook
I just found some interesting information about Mary Jane and where she may be buried. In the August 7, 1902 issue of the Owen County Democrat on page 6 is the notice of a "Double Funeral" for Francis M Cook and Mary J Cook; grandfather and granddaughter.
Mary Jane died July 12th, 1902 and her grandfather Francis died July 13th.The obituary for Francis noted that he was buried in Wilkerson-Nees Cemetery. Mary Jane's notice does not give her burial location - but I think it lends toward the idea that she really was buried in Wilkerson-Nees.
I have added Francis' obit to his FindAGrave page, and what was printed for Mary Jane on her page.
